Lox for breakfast on the Imagination

I have always had smoked salmon for my morning bagel at all Carnival breakfast buffets. Cream cheese is also available. Onions and capers and sliced tomatoes may not always be available.

On some ships they have 2 different kinds of capers, dry, woody ones and the brined ones. I prefer the brined capers. In fact so much I'm taking a jar with me on our next cruise!

It's been a long time since this was true. Room service and the deli window are the only two options.

Hasn't been on the West Coast Carnival breakfast buffet for many, many years. On the West Coast need to sail Princess for breakfast buffet lox. It's in rotation with other smoked fish.

I believe it's been removed from the room service menu. Pity, as I loved getting that. And the bagel would still be warm, wrapped in a napkin. I never tipped but made sure that I showed my appreciation with a resounding "yummy" sound.

Oh man, don't tell me that. I always ordered this from room service on debarkation day. Kind of a going-away breakfast.

On the Vista last month I asked one of the buffet workers during breakfast hours for smoked salmon every morning and they gladly went in the back and brought me out a nice sliced portion served in a bowl in about a minutes time.

Lox is definitely on the Sea Day brunch. I little tip, if you write in lox on your room service menu, it will magically appear, extra cream cheese, of course.

GREAT TIP!

On mornings after late nights in the casino, I DREAD dragging myself to the MDR for the gotta-have bagel, lox, capers, onions, tomato. I will try this tip, and cross my fingers as I sleep.

We had it in June 2014. All 8 of us - in 3 cabins of course - many many times. Room service. All times of the day.

A lot of mis- (or dated) information on this thread. Salmon was taken off the room service menu over a year ago. It was a big uprising on John Heald's facebook page, many people complained. But it was not changed. I was one of the complainers because I ordered it every morning. So even though people here are saying they got it from room service in 2014, it is no longer available. On my first cruise after the change, I wrote it onto my hang tag order hoping it would show up, but the very nice lady who delivered explained that it is no longer in the room service kitchen. Perhaps someone got lucky one time, but as the norm, you cannot get it from room service. It is perhaps the change I have hated most of all the cut back changes.

I added salmon to my room service card the first day of my January 8, 2017 cruise and did receive it. The nice young man who delivered it to me said they no longer offer it on the room service menu but he said "I bring it special for you.". So I very much enjoyed it that morning but couldn't bring myself to write it in again the rest of the week. I did express my displeasure on the on-line survey that they removed it from the menu though.

You didn't hear this from me, but I've heard where others have taken zip lock bags with them and have had the deli put some smoked salmon in the bag for them and then keep it in the room fridge.
