Short (3-5 Nt.) cruises out of FL on Celebrity - different?

I'm curious about Celebrity's shorter 3 to 5 night cruises sailing out of Florida ports.

I travel to FL a handful of times a year, mostly to visit family, but one of these days I might be interested in taking that as an excuse to book a quick cruise.

How does a short cruise measure up to - for example - a 7 night cruise on Celebrity? I know that on certain  cruise lines, the short cruises attract a 24-hour-party crowd. I'm hoping this is not the case for X? I really appreciated the overall 'vibe' of my Celebrity 7 night cruise, adults acting like adults for the most part!!

If you've been on one of these shorter cruises or know anything about them, anecdotes, advice, warnings etc. would be greatly appreciated!

In general, you pretty much hit the nail on the head.

The shorter cruises tend to be party cruises.

If you want something calmer, you'll need to plan on 7 days or longer.

ditto

Shorter the cruise, the more they party.

I did a 3 night Nov from FL after a 7 night Aug to Alaska. Didn't hear or see any partying. Met lots of nice folk. I was traveling solo. I enjoyed trying out an M class and MDR after Solstice suite. Loved the pool. It was short but got a snorkel trip in despite both our original ports cancelled due to wind.

Did a 3 day about three years ago when the Century did her fairwell tour. More young people than usual but not a party cruise like the weekend Majesty cruises were.

We had a great time on our 5 day Millenium cruise. More active, younger crowd, but not a party ship like like the 3 night runs on other lines. It seemed to attract basically the same Celebrity clientele. Besides the party crowd, I mostly stay away from those 3 night cruises because they are on very old ships, and yes, a total different experience than a full cruise.

We did a 5 night out of FLL in early December 2015 that stopped in Key West and Cozumel. We didn't find the passengers any different than a longer cruise (maybe because of the time of the year).

What did REALLY disrupt the entire trip for us was a very large conference - and it actually appeared to be a Celebrity event as some kind of a reward or promotion. Every venue was dominated by parties and events and gaggles of rude / drunk / loud people. Door and event signs all said "This is our time." Personally, I found this really frustrating since, they were all Celebrity employees / affiliates...I wanted to stop them and shake them and say "No...this is MY time! I'm a guest and I paid for this and you are negatively impacting my experience!" But, I buried it deep down inside and vowed to never go on a short cruise again.

I have done a five day on the Constellation and found it very similar to the seven day and 11 day cruises on Celebrity. I didn't see anyone partying but did see more families with well-behaved children.

We were on the same cruise. I wandered into one of their events by accident. It was in the casino and I just saw "bar food" so when I roamed over, not realizing it was a private event and helped myself to a sandwich, they all started chatting with me not knowing I wasn't one of them. When I found out they were giving out free bottles of water and drinks, I hung around a little more. I guess I made "their time" - my time.

The last short cruise I went on was over spring break in 2015 (on X)....I got the ONE cruise that month with unruley and VERY drunk spring breakers.....the cruise before it and the one after it were much calmer (from what I was told). My particular cruise?

I had never written a full letter (hand written) to HQ before but I did upon returning home from that cruise.......

My first cruise was a 5 nighter on Constellation because I didn't want to commit to a full week without knowing if I'd enjoy it. I met lots of other people like me, and it wasn't a party cruise at all. This was during February, though. I would avoid shorter cruises in March/April because those can attract Spring Breakers who might be using it as a booze cruise.

Thanks everybody for their words of wisdom. I do think if I ever attempted this it would NEVER be during any type of college break (Spring or otherwise) -- which would likely reduce the possibility that I was inadvertently booking a booze cruise. No offense to them, I know they need to blow of some steam, and I am happy to vacation AROUND them when they do.

Did a 5 day cruise on the Connie last March. A few Frats/Sorority's on board but nothing that would cause me not to book another 5 day cruise. Crowd definitely a bit more lively, but not annoying.

We did a short Celebrity cruise and there was quite a difference from a traditional 7 day cruise. It was a filler cruise between a charter. Staff spent alot of time decorating for the next upcoming event. The passengers were a much younger drinking crowd. It was loud. Smoking on balconies. Private drinking corporate events. Not our cup of tea.

We did a 5 night on the Eclipse December 2015. While the demographics were much younger I did not feel it was a party cruise as compared to my 5 night on Carnival.

We had a great time and I would love to do another one if I could find something in the same price point.

We did a five night on Connie from 12/26/2017 to 12/31/2017 out of FLL to Key West and Grand Cayman. We had a great time and demographic was not much different that our Bermuda cruise the year before. It was so much fun, we tried to extend B2B while on board, but there was nothing available. Bummed we could not attend the New Years party after one of the bartenders told us how fun it would be.
