$200 OBC, 4 day cruise, no alcohol

$200 doesn't last long on a cruise ship - drinks, excursions, photos, casino - any one of these can use up all that OBC in no time at all.
That's somewhat true, depending on the spending habits of the cruiser, but the OP's question wasn't "how far will my OBC go?" It was more about suggestions for how to use the OBC. $200 will very nearly pay for gratuities for the cruise in question and a budget excursion for two, say fifty bucks per person for a tour or beach day. That's a worthwhile gain in my book. To me, 200 bucks is nothing to sneeze at. Excluding gratuities, our S&S bill is rarely more than $200-$300 for a seven night cruise, largely because we don't drink much. We are budget conscious and not everyone is, or has to be. I would be excited about that OBC. I think many would, including the OP. I don't mean to be contentious, but I doubt the OP started this thread to hear how insignificant their OBC is. For some, perhaps it would be insignificant - and good for them, I guess... but for most of us, $200 OBC is something to be excited about.

$200 is indeed a nice amount. I'm sorry you thought my post meant it was insignificant

I only meant to stress how fast it could be spent, and listed some possibilities. I probably should have included the Dteakhouse as well.

I didn't mention gratuities since the OP stated they were already prepaid.

A coffee in the morning, sparkling water with dinner, a photograph or two to take home, try a pay-for restaurant, try your luck at a slot machine, get a souvenir in a shop...the possibilities are endless!

Fair enough. I thought I detected some cynicism in your post. Perhaps not. Happy cruising! :)

I just got off the Victory last week. We had everything pre-paid. I had a gift card and my sister got us ship credits. We left with a $236 bill - all at the spa and on beautiful photography. We booked the private studio for black and white session and it was phenomenal!

Unless the gratuities were a gift from your TA I would have those refunded and use the OBC. That leaves you with approx $12 a day each. A DOD plus a coffee or a meal at the steak house will finish it off.

I apologize for hijacking the thread but I have a related question.

I just made reservations for the Steakhouse and was informed that I would receive an email confirmation.

Will Carnival use my OBC for the Steakhouse? Do I pay now or at the time of service?

When I pre-book an excursion Carnival makes me pay by credit card even if I have OBC.

I never thought I'd purchase any "gifts" on the ship. No one in my circle of family and friends would want a beach towel, t-shirt, shot glass or drink cups. I surprised myself by purchasing a bunch of bracelet gift sets for my sister and sisters-in-law from the "sale" table on the last sea day.

We also didn't think we'd purchase any of the pictures but we did find a couple that were nice memento's of our trip.

So I guess what I'm saying is that you might be surprised on what you might find to buy with that $200 OBC. Have fun! :)

Yes, you can use OBC for the Steakhouse. It is charged to your S&S account not paid for at time of booking.
