Rare shof515 Posted October 23, 2017 #103 Share Posted October 23, 2017 What is the pricing for Margaritaville during lunch/dinner? It is al la carte or that 14.99 something surcharge?
seadog67 Posted October 23, 2017 Author #104 Share Posted October 23, 2017 The Behind the Scene Platinum Tour meets today at 9:30 am, the host said the start times can vary week to week and was not sure of next weeks start time. geomancer Posted October 23, 2017 #105 Share Posted October 23, 2017 Thinking about trying out the Breakaway this December as a solo cruiser. I have some time off from work that must be used by the end of the year, but my wife doesn't have any. Some really good deals for this ship on an inside, but all said and done with added fees it's tough to justify $1k spent on just myself and not the family. But maybe... How are the included meals? NYC has two NCL ships operating, this one and Gem. Looks like Breakaway only has Main Dinning room, O'Sheehans, and Buffet included, while the Gem has several more venues. Is there anywhere to just grab a burger or pizza throughout the day? I know you're mostly hitting all the specialty restaurants, but it sounds like you've been on the ship multiple times :) You've posted lots of good information, thanks for sharing! Enjoy your cruise! seadog67 Posted October 23, 2017 Author #106 Share Posted October 23, 2017 Thank you Seadog, do you know how upgrading works if I were to reach 1000? Would the system give me an option to upgrade to the unlimited or would that have to be done at the cafe, or would I have to buy a whole new plan? I have been told you can upgrade but am not sure how that works. Loving your review. Have another great day. Sent from my SM-G935V using Forums mobile app From the IT Manager. Every time you login you will see your usage monitor. Once you have used up your allotment you will be shutoff with the option to buy another plan. Breakaway also has Shanghai Noodle Bar included (mainly open during dinner time only) and a hot dog cart that shows up on the pool deck and on the waterfront. For complimentary burgers throughout the day your choices would be O'Sheehans or Garden Cafe, for pizza it would just be Garden Cafe. There is also Room Service, but that of course has the $7.95 per order fee for everything but continental breakfast.
bam1957 Posted October 23, 2017 #109 Share Posted October 23, 2017 What would a cruise critic review be without a little criticism... our room service coffee and danish My only criticism is there is not enough coffee for Two Cups in this carafe. We marked coffee for 2 and this is what we received enough for 1-1/2 cups total. Pro tip , order for 4 to hopefully get enough for two full cups, one cup each .. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It's not the Haven room service that you are used to. It's very disappointing. We ordered once and that was more than enough. We ordered once and that was more than enough. That is exactly it. We were accustomed to the haven, did not think of that. And yes it is disappointing even for non-haven rooms. It was a much better offering not to many years ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
geomancer Posted October 23, 2017 #111 Share Posted October 23, 2017 Breakaway has 3 MDR: Taste, The Manhattan Room and SavorGem has 2 MDR: Grand Pacific and Magenta I was under the impression (at least with the Gem) that the MDR's had the same menu? Is Breakaway different? Breakaway also has Shanghai Noodle Bar included (mainly open during dinner time only) and a hot dog cart that shows up on the pool deck and on the waterfront. For complimentary burgers throughout the day your choices would be O'Sheehans or Garden Cafe, for pizza it would just be Garden Cafe. I have two future cruises with RCCL and theirs is closed outside meal times.

Rare mking8288 Posted October 23, 2017 #113 Share Posted October 23, 2017 ... disappointing even for non-haven rooms. It was a much better offering not to many years ago.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Well, restoring the yogurt along with cereals is good in case we don't want to crawl out of bed early on a sea day morning & sleep in. Next week, I am going consider this & write in a request for wheat toast and/or bagel with margarine and see what happened - any chance of sighting smoked salmon in the AM buffet ?? (I know, head for the MDR as we usually do, but - a cruise is an excuse to be lazy for the week, doing as little and as much :halo: ) Thanks for getting that info for the BTS tour, this is very good & hopeful for us next week ... Much appreciated.
seadog67 Posted October 23, 2017 Author #114 Share Posted October 23, 2017 Sorry not much to report having spent the last two hours on the balcony reading: Rest in peace Chesterh. Next we have to scour the daily for some afternoon activity that catches our eye. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
BabsinTX Posted October 23, 2017 #115 Share Posted October 23, 2017 Following with great interest. Our Gem repo from NYC to New Orleans next year was switched to the Breakaway, so I'm on a crash course to learn about the ship. I'm learning and laughing while reading your posts! Jaime0528 Posted October 23, 2017 #116 Share Posted October 23, 2017 If you could post a picture of a drink menu on your travels that includes the price of a dark and stormy I'd be very appreciative. I read some conflicting information awhile back and was curious if they are included in the package now or are over.... Also the price of Hendricks gin. Thanks!
