frank808 Posted April 23, 2018 #403 Share Posted April 23, 2018 Never got a drink in the DL on Harmony. Only used the Suite Lounge. I believe, John had mentioned that Serenade had a tip jar/glass in the CL. Was just wondering about Mariner. Sent from my iPhone using Forums On serenade cl it was somedays visible and somedays beneath the bar top. Bkchero Posted April 24, 2018 #407 Share Posted April 24, 2018 Anybody ready for 6 sea days? Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk I had to read this twice, then go to the map. I didn’t realize it was that far to go around the Arabian Peninsula. Over 2,400 nautical miles. By comparison Miami to Aruba is about 1,400. Hope they restocked the bacon . . . Rare island lady Posted April 24, 2018 #415 Share Posted April 24, 2018 New pirate letter Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk Yikes...balcony light is one thing...but how can the bridge tell if your curtain is closed? Well maybe if bright lights on inside of the cabin showing out I guess, but don't think I would want to be the fish in a bowl on that one.
Ocean Boy Posted April 24, 2018 #416 Share Posted April 24, 2018 I feel badly for people with inside and ocean view cabins. I would hate not being able to get outside at night. I also think it would be really cool to be out on deck with all the lights out... just like visiting the helipad at night. I guess the bright side is you got bacon back. Rare John&LaLa Posted April 25, 2018 Author #423 Share Posted April 25, 2018 Greetings from the Arabian Sea. Not quite to the Gulf of Aden, just off the coast of Yemen. My Google Maps app seems to be working again. Last night we were back in Singapore. [emoji848] Anyway, let's discuss our turnaround in Dubai and our new Suite. Rare John&LaLa Posted April 25, 2018 Author #424 Share Posted April 25, 2018 Turnaround in Dubai was quite different than what I'm used to back in the states. Partially because of the overnight while still on leg 1, having to change cabins, and no US customs. We had to pick up our passports on the morning before we arrived in Dubai. Our time was between 7:00 and 7:30. Took all of 5 minutes. Passports sorted by deck. Laura stayed in the cabin and all I had to do was show her seapass. We arrived in Dubai right on time. As I said earlier, we crashed the polo party before heading out on our Dune Safari. As we headed out into the Dubai terminal, we handed our passports over to the Dubai authorities, who hopefully have them back to the ship. I believe we get them back again prior to our stop in Isreal. The next morning we checked in for leg 2. This was done in MDR deck 4 and maybe took 5 minutes. They had the local gate agents handling all this. Easiest B2B ever. No zero count, no waiting to get off, no waiting to get on. Time to change cabins. Rare John&LaLa Posted April 25, 2018 Author #425 Share Posted April 25, 2018 Forgot to give props to the Guest Services team for making all these stops and transfers run so smoothly. OK, let's change cabins. I believe there were 1,600 B2B passengers from leg 1. 400 of them, like us, had to change cabins. Our cabin steward had 8 folks moving. Because of this, the usu as l process of packing the drawers/shelves, but not the closet, was not going to work. Pack Everything. I'm sure there were exceptions. We had spoke with the previous occupants of our new cabin the day before and knew they were leaving early, so we went upstairs to drop the Crown Jewels in the safe. And the safe won't work. [emoji35] So Ray called his supervisor and told us to come back in 30 minutes. FWIW, he almost had our cabin ready by 8am. Speaking of safes, our JS safe was almost twice as big as the one in GS.
