We booked our Oct ‘19 11-day voyage while the Landmark promotion was in place. It gave us each a $500 OBC. So, we’ll keep watching for a price drop (it would need to be $200+ each) to see if we take advantage of this.

Wow when does that promotion normally take place

$50 OBC per person for inside cabin seems small compared to the amount that was offered in 2017 when we sailed. I wonder why so low.

They test the cruising public to see what it takes to get you to book. If we all got together and didn’t book any cruises for two months the Offers would be astounding. :)

I am booked with another sale at the moment for my B2B -- this sale would give me about 40 more $$ but the one in 2017 gave me quite a bit more. I have got plenty of time so I guess I will just sit back and wait and see if anything better comes along.

Many thanks, Coral. I see our Northern Lights cruise on the list. We have exactly ZERO perks on that cruise so I'm hoping to transfer the booking to this promo - as long as they don't jack up the price any further. We didn't move to the Sip and Sail because they said I had to re-book at the new pricing and the cabin went up by $500 per person. Bleh. No thanks. I actually re-booked at that point to a lower category (Premium Ocean View instead of Balcony). Since that booking was at the "new" pricing I'm hoping I can just keep that price and add the promo. It would only get us $150 in OBC with that cabin category and only a 12 day cruise but the bit of OBC plus free gratuities would certainly help.

looks like our 27 day British Isle cruise is there. Have sip and sale now but if price is right when you factor in the casino rate....we will switch.

I would hate to give up the Sip and Sail if I had it. I love dropping into Vines in the evening and being able to sit in Crooner's or Wheelhouse listening to the entertainment and having a drink without having to pay. We had two cruises under the last Sip and Sail and then watched the prices go up and up and up. Not this time.

Thrak

last time we had the sip and sail ...we gave it up for a better casino rate and saved almost as much as the price was with the booze included....and my husband would benefit but not me I drink maybe 4 max drinks and we also get mini bar and bring our own wine.

I would rather have 3 for Free. I did not re-fare my cruises for Sip and Sail.

They told me I would have to re-fare as the cost of the balcony was $500 per person more than when I booked. If I could have just added the S&S I would have been ecstatic.

I think my wife was in the 4 drink area most of the time. I hit the max once... We bring our 2 "free" bottles of wine but don't get the mini bar. With the S&S, even on the 28 day cruise, I don't believe we actually finished our 2 "free" bottles of wine. We had wine in Vines and, sometimes, at dinner. I just loved the absolute freedom of the S&S - especially on the 28 day cruise where there were 18 sea days. I wouldn't pay for it though. It's just too darn much money dedicated to drinks. I'll be quite happy if we can get the 3 for Free on the Northern Lights cruise. The TA afterward we moved to the Landmark Sale when it came up. That didn't work for us with the Northern Lights cruise though.

My husband and I are booked in a window suite for October 2019.....our cruise is listed in this sale. Will we be able to move to a different suite? Maybe a vista suite??? I've never understood the stateroom location upgrade.

Sorry for this stupid question, I am not an experienced cruiser. I am booked under the Sip & Sail for a cruise that's covered under the 3 for Free upcoming promotion. My daughter booked an obstructed ocean view with zero perks. If she was going to book under this, do you modify your booking online, call Princess, do new booking then cancel the old one, or what? Thank you.

First, you check cabin prices and make sure that the cruise fares for the two offers are comparable. Sometimes Princess changes the fares when they change the perks. If, after evaluating both deals, she still wants to move to the "3 for free" and didn't use a travel agent for the original booking, I'd call Princess. That gives me a chance to ask any questions and be sure I'm fully understanding what I'm getting. You can probably do it on line, but I feel better talking to a real person and then verifying what I'm seeing by going to the personalizer.

You learn things by talking to reps....like HA cabins don't qualify for location upgrades. (yeah, we did this offer a couple years ago).

But I would be dealing with a travel agent--that way I'd get whatever perks the agent was offering (better price, OBC, etc) in addition to whatever Princess is offering.

Call whoever you booked with. They will help weigh the pros and cons over your current booking and 3 for free.

Thanks for all the great information Coral!! I have some questions..we are currently booking a 10 day Partial transit Panama Canal cruise on the Island Princess October 2019--it is not booked yet. If we book under the Sip & Sail now, can we transfer our deposit to the 3 for FREE after 9/6 if it is a better deal? Or will be lose our deposit? Should we wait for the 3 for Free--do the prices traditionally come down compared to the Sip & Sail?;p;p;p

Make sure you book with someone who doesn't charge cancellation fees or change fees.

Sip and Sail has refundable deposit - so yes, if you book and 3 for Free is better, you can switch.

Some fares will go up, some go down, some stay the same. Impossible to predict.
