Jj343434jj Posted October 22, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2018 My wife and I have been on several RC cruises and never had to include a picture on the online check in. Is this something we really need to do or is filling in the rest of the check in fine?

matj2000 Posted October 23, 2018 #4 Share Posted October 23, 2018 No matter how many pictures you take & upload trying to be compliant. They will take your picture at check-in. So don't bother...…...
hannibal54 Posted October 23, 2018 #5 Share Posted October 23, 2018 I was on the Mariner last month and I submitted my photo. They didn't retake my picture and the lady thanked me for uploading my photo. If you can help the people behind the desks in anyway, I am for it. I travel a ton for work and I’ve become an expert at taking bland, passport like photos. Our checkin lady said they were perfect and thanked us for saving her time. dwayneb236 Posted October 23, 2018 #8 Share Posted October 23, 2018 On the Harmony I loaded mine and my wife's pictures. They did not take our pictures at the port.

No, you don't need to do it, however, if you have a smart phone, take a picture, email it to yourself, and upload it. It's not difficult.
Sixtynifty Posted October 23, 2018 #10 Share Posted October 23, 2018 Thank you for information! Have never been asked to download picture at check-in. However think might be requested for Harmony check-in for March cruise. Taking two young grandchildren. Was not pleasant trying to get passport pictures so hoping we can wait until we are at the ship!
matj2000 Posted October 24, 2018 #11 Share Posted October 24, 2018 I uploaded our photos on my last 3 trips. All of them needed to take photos because they had no photo on file. The check in lady on the Allure 7 months ago never heard of anything about it.

johnjen Posted October 24, 2018 #13 Share Posted October 24, 2018 I'd say it's not that big a deal, might even speed things up during the boarding process for you.
link99 Posted October 24, 2018 #14 Share Posted October 24, 2018 At Port Canaveral ,Oct 12,Enchantment check in I asked about it. Was told it depended on Picture. If it meets their requirements they use it,if not the will take it.
Rare BirdTravels Posted October 24, 2018 #15 Share Posted October 24, 2018 The recently accepted our uploaded photos on the Anthem. Then rejected the same pictures on the Allure. We used the same photos for the Sumphony in a few weeks, so we’ll gather more metics.
Hopetotravel Posted October 24, 2018 #16 Share Posted October 24, 2018 Just got off Allure on Sun. and they accepted the photos I took at home. They didn't retake them.
dwayneb236 Posted October 24, 2018 #17 Share Posted October 24, 2018 It's not that big a deal to do it or not. I don't mind doing it. Takes a few minutes out of one boring day. I can deal with that. If they want to retake again at port, who cares? A few seconds more. I just like doing cruise related stuff. And it doesn't affect anyone that I do it so I don't care what others think. Longhorn Cruiser Posted October 24, 2018 #19 Share Posted October 24, 2018 I uploaded our photos for the last 3 cruises. Just take a head shot with your phone using a white background. Definitely speeds up check in. See My Set Sail Pass below for upcoming cruise. Security Photo checked as complete.

No need to stress about this.....just have the pictures taken at checkin.....We sailed on HOTS with grandchildren and it was easy to have them taken in the terminal. SeaDays Posted October 25, 2018 #23 Share Posted October 25, 2018 Optional. Benefit may depend on port and ship. On our recent Anthem cruise from Port Liberty, we approached a person after the entrance. She was equipped with nothing but a tablet. Passports scanned there; marched onto ship. There was the ususal bank of traditional check-in desks which you could use should you choose not to upload. Wasn’t busy, but your results may vary. The person with the tablet can take your picture for you too. You do not have to go to the desks if you didn't upload your picture.
