RoyalUP? (Bid for stateroom upgrade)

Just received RoyalUp offer (exactly 60 days out) for the Royal Suite ($400 PP) or Villa Suites ($200 PP).  Freedom April 28.  We are currently in an Owners Suite. Not interested in walking all the way aft so will not bid on the VS but entered the min bid for the RS which is still showing “availabile”.  This is not a tremendous deal (the PP cost for a straight upgrade is $1000) but since we’ve never been in the RS we will give it a shot.  Certainly not willing to pay more than $800 for it.

Have been tracking prices and the price of the OS we already have booked fell $600 PP right after final payment date so they might be having a bit of a problem selling this sailing. I think there are still 3 or 4 OS still showing “available”.  Others looking for upgrades may have a good shot on this one.

Received my Royal Up this morning.  Currently booked in a Junior Suite aft and got the following bid opportunities:

Royal Suite - $300/person, Owners Suite - $300/person, Grand Suite 2 bedroom - $300/person and Grand Suite - $200/person.

After checking our cruise which is on Navigator 3/29/19 found the only staterooms that show available are interior.  Did not bid on any other suites that appear to be located on deck 10 which is under pool deck and windjammer.  Happily staying in my JS aft.

WE received the email two days ago to Royal Up on our Adventure cruise on May 5th.  We are currently booked in a JS.  Starting bids for a GS was $200 pp and $300 pp for OS. We bid on both as we snatched up the JS at a very good rate when it opened up a while back.  Curious to see if we get the upgrade. They also offered the RS for $1000 pp but we were not willing to pay that much.   Does anyone know how long you have to wait?

Some reports have said they were notified less than a week before the cruise.

I received a royalup offer 3 days ago (46 days before) for a family suite no balcony, jr suite & grand suite on my 4/13 cruise on Rhapsody.  We are currently booked on an extended balcony so I bid $400 total for the family and $300 for the GS but didn't bid on the JS.

No perk difference, but the OS has the separate shower, bidet, and full size dining table inside the stateroom.

OS is one of the few cabins we have not sailed in.  Does it have a more traditional closet than the GS?

I thought I have read that people were notified up to 24 hours ahead or is that just for the ones not accepted?

We received emails for our bids that were not accepted exactly 24 hours before sail away time.

We received an email yesterday for our April 28th Harmony sailing.  We only have a balcony cabin on this sailing and I see no point in bidding on a different balcony cabin as only thing we would get would be a larger cabin.  Considered bidding on a JS, but without getting the double points, we don't see the point.

We are staying where we are.

I think the closet is similar to that of the GS, sliding doors.  At least on LB.

But was it near the bed?

No, my recollection was that the layout of the GS and OS was very similar, with the OS being larger.  I'm going to look for some photos to refresh my memory.  Our daughter had the OS on her wedding cruise on LB.

We are on the Symphony sailing Saturday 3/2.  There are 3 of us. We were originally booked in an interior.  I got my first Royal Up email 11/28.  These were the options:

Junior Suite - $600 pp

Ocean View Balcony - $300 pp

Neighbourhood Balcony - $200 pp

Ocean VIew - $100 pp

I did not bid but on Feb 1 I called the Casino and we were able to upgrade from our interior to a Crown Loft for $2200 for the three of us - we are sailing on hubby's Prime Cruise so did not pay much for the interior originally (1250.68 due to having to upgrade to a 3 occupancy room and taxes).

On 2/2 I got another bid email based of my upgrade:

Villa Suite - $2100 pp

Star Loft Suite - $1300 pp

Aquatheatre 2 Bedroom - $500 pp

Aquatheatre 1 Bedroom - $300 pp

I was tempted to bid on the 2 bedroom Aquatheatre to try to get the Star Class benefits but hubby would not go for it.  I probably could have convinced him if we were not Prime.  If we did not already get drinks in the casino,  I would have bought a drink package anyway which would have been around $400+.

No, the closets are basically in the same place as they are in the GS BUT that big peninsula is removed and a nice dry bar is added along the wall near the closets and you get a nice dining table and chairs for a comfortable place to eat inside.

Question:  We booked direct with RCCL in a WS GTY (junior suite + guarantee).  Days later, received Royal Up invite to bid, and put in a fairly low offer for a GS. Offer has been sitting for weeks.  This morning, received cruise documents via email (and can see online) that we are assigned a GS.  No charges/emails from Royal Up. To me this appears unrelated to Royal Up.   When I go to my offer page, I am able to cancel it.  Is this normal WS GTY assignment working (unrelated to Royal Up) or do you think it's a glitch?

30 days out from being on Adv OTS (3/30 sailing).  We are currently in a balcony.

Spacious Balcony: $150 pp

JS: $250 pp

GS: $450 pp

GS 2 Bed was also available but glossed over that starting bid.  Can have DH forward me the email if anyone is interested in the $.

Online all suites are sold out.  Put in a min bid on the JS.
