Ocean Medallion Question Thread - Part 1

Yep I stand corrected I wrote that before I left work and just got home to find our medallions arrived. The inserts are blue but the medallions themselves are ruby for our level.

You're welcome - I pinged Princess when they announced this that they should color-code the Medallions, because they were not. Where's my free cruise Princess? 🙂

 We are also on the 7/27 Caribbean Princess cruise.  Loaded the OceanReady app.  No problem linking the booking although the CruisePersonalizer link will not be completed [per OceanReady navigator] until after full payment.  Security photo, profile photo, PIN, and mailing info for Medallion done without any problems.  Passport scanning - no can do despite several calls to assistance line.  Told Monday that situation has been "escalated", "upper management" has been notified, and "hopefully, it will get fixed this week but no guarantee because it may be a coding problem.  May then have to wait until app update.  Then again, maybe you are trying to load info too far in advance."

I talked to princess they said they could ship new ones or we could pick them up at the port. Thanks to all for your help and info.

I just received a call from Princess  Tech Support. They  have fixed the app that now  allows one to add documents (e.g.  passports etc) They had me login and I was able to reach the "Travel Documents" input page. To my surprise, it already has our passport photos from our Princess cruise last year. (yea) The only thing needed is to add our security photos. Hope this helps. 

 

Timing:The first leg of our CB  b2b begins July 20, 2019. Second on July 27th. We were out 89 days when we first noticed the medallion on the Princess web site. So it took until now to resolve the issue at least for us. Note: they did have to reset our password to correct the document issue. You can again reset it to your old password.

The Help Desk got it in for me, ordering my medallion and completing my info (most of which they uploaded)

Me either.  The App name is "Ocean Casino" on Apple - there does not seem to be an Ocean Casino App on Google Play -- yet -- the other 5 apps are there:  Ocean Ready, Ocean Compass, Ocean Now, Ocean View and Play Ocean,

I have not been able to become completely “Ocean Ready”. No matter what I click on, or confirm, it still shows us as being one step away from completion. Ive clicked on the “Cruise Personalizer” countless times, everything was filled in months ago. This morning when I first opened the app, it also claimed that I was missing our passport info, even though the info and pictures were there. I simply resubmitted the info and it was accepted, but I’m still 1 step away. I tried calling Princess just now and grew tired of listening to the “all agents are currently busy” message. Am I doing something wrong, or is this app buggy as hell!?

It can be a pain. When I did it the wifes went thru fine. When it came to mine it took eveything but pin. No matter what I did it didnt work. Logged off deleted app reinstalled logged in some info was missing. Called princess they took about a week and straightened it out. I would say call and hold did it yesterday because they sent wrong medallions only waited a few minutes.

I had a similar issue briefly with the personalizer. The personalizer was completed but showed incomplete in the app. Mine turned out to be a simple problem to solve. Our cruise is separate b2bs. When I filled out the information in the personalizer for the 1st, the other was populated automatically with the same information. However, the field that has to be checked for acceptance of the passage contract had to be completed separately. That was my issue. Once I did that, the app information was completed.

 

My point is that it could be some little something in the personalizer that is easy to overlook. I've also found that information entered into the personalizer doesn't always stay there (like home airport code, emergency contact) so if any of that disappeared then it would be read by the app as incomplete.

Well, after being on hold for quite a bit, the rep told me that I had done everything correctly, and that it will show me as being “Ocean Ready” 75 days before sailing. We’re 85 days away at the moment. It sounds like they are busy working out all of the bugs, and I’ve been promised that I’ll “love it”.

I was ocean ready  yesterday after months of issues and today I"m not and it needs the passports yet again.  I'm sailing on May 14.  

This did the same thing when I was on the Regal in January and honestly the app is just that glitchy!

 

Hopefully it will fix itself prior to your sailing.

Hi all , 

Just have a quick question about the Medallion. We have booked a cruise next year in April. We are sailing to Hawaii from San Francisco. I just watched the drydock video and it talked about the Medallion being ready for next year. As I have been looking at videos, I see the MedallionNet will be ready by December 20 2019. Does anyone know if this is just the fast internet or will it be the full meal deal of door opening, drink ordering, find out where your family /friends are on ship ?

If it just says Medallion Net then it's ONLY the Internet upgrade.

Yes, the Medallion is waterproof and can be worn in the pool.
