Have you tried deleting the app from your phone and then re-downloading it?

I've tried that route many times since our first Medallion cruise & it's still not working correctly.

Maybe next year after they fix the app I'll try again but for now I'll just enjoy my next 5 trips without it.

If something is not working correctly with the number of problems listed in this and other threads, then it has not been designed properly.

Technology such as this should be easy for the user to use. The many posts of frustration indicate that this software is very user unfriendly, even when working properly.

And even when working properly, it appears more time is spent working with the application pre-cruise than possibly can be saved at check-in if you have not done this in advance.

A few disgruntled posters on CC represent a tiny fraction of the number of people using the app.  And some of these posters obviously do not like the change and are using any and every chance to bash it.

I had almost no issues downloading and setting up the app.  (There are numerous posts to that effect too.)  Quite frankly, I found the software easy to use.  I will see how it actually works on a ship in a week.

The bottom line is the medallions are not going away.  This is the future and not just for cruising.  I use my smartphone to show by boarding pass at the airport.  I use my smartphone to gain admission to hockey games.  I use my smartphone to pay for purchases at the drug store. All with no issues.

I have deleted and reinstalled the app.  My husband did the same thing and still both phones have the wrong cruise on them.

This is very frustrating because I have a feeling this will not get fixed until at the pier on cruise day.

I know it is not a big deal but Not what I wanted to do that day!

What phone & model are you using?

My experience with Accenture -- they are  excellent at generating billings.

My November cruise on the Sky and B2B May 2020 cruises on the Royal were automatically added to our MedallionClass app.

wow good for you.  As of now my medallion class app does not accept my booking #.  Not a big deal

How could you know if they are working overtime, or slacking off -- unless you work there or have other intimate knowledge of the developers?

My observation -- the Global Innovators have struggled and struggled; and now they have hired Accenture to

try and bail them out.

I am just trying to help calm the fear of people who are not that tech savy.  You may be tech savy and you may have gone on medallion cruise and had issues with the medallion.  I had good trip on my cruise and the medallion worked as it was supposed to.  I assume the Princess medallion staff are trying to get it working correctly for everyone.

Do you think the people posting about difficulties installing / using the App(s) are lying?

That it was easy for you doesn't mean it was easy for everyone.

Personally, I assume they are truthful, and mostly seeking help, rather than complaining.

Way to jump to the conclusion you want to reach.  My point was simply that many people (most?) have not had problems.  Yet some posters are insisting the app is fatally flawed.

And, in fact, quite a few posters are complaining.  I imagine there were similar sentiments expressed when cruise cards were first introduced.

If people have ever read the comments about the apps that are posted you'll see that most are disgusted by how well they work.

If it wasn't a Princess related app I would never bother to download it based on reviews.

You don't have to have the app.  We didn't on our cruise a few weeks ago and it worked out fine.

Check in: More people in the medallion line than the regular line, haha. We checked in fast without a medallion. Gave them our passports, got our medallion.

Drinks:  To order drinks we still had to give our room number and name, they never even scanned our medallion. Don't need the app unless ordering from lounger, which didn't work at all.

Wifi:  You can get wifi without the app.

Tracking someone onboard: you need the app

Gambling outside the casino: you need the app

Getting on and off the ship: Don't need the app

Buying something onboard:  Don't need the app

It is really just taking up storage space on your phone, IMO.

Thanks for posting this!

I will just show up as usual, and deal with it at boarding time.

Oh no you took the bait. You don't have to explain yourself. Anger and bitterness are sometimes engrained so attacking everyone is the only way.    Best solution is hit the ignore feature.   😉

My coffee shop buddy and I are both cruising on the Royal Princess in three days.  My wife and I have our medallions.  His wife and he do not have their medallions.  We're going to time our check-ins to see whose is quicker.

Your report supports my suspicion that the "I need to pick up my medallion" process will be quicker than the "I already have my medallion" process.

Who cares?  For the following 12 days somebody else is going to make the bed for us, vacuum the room, take away our dirty laundry and bring it back cleaned, prepare our meals, clean off the table and wash the dishes.  Life is pretty darned good.

I find that once I step foot onboard I forget everything that happened prior to that. 😁

Seems pretty disrespectful to the people who are sincere.

Some are indeed sincere in their issues while others are not so sincere.  There is a group whose goal is to demean the OM effort any chance they get.

In our one encounter so far with OM which was on the CB, I like it even with the sometimes problems.  The app worked fairly well for me.  Most of my cruises in the next two years are on OM enabled ships and I am looking forward to them.

I checked in for our Oct 14 cruise this past weekend.  I then downloaded the MedallionClass™ app onto my phone.  All good until I realized it has us sailing on the wrong date.

My husband loaded the app onto his phone and same thing.

Monday I called the app help desk and she said she has to have IT work in it and I would hear back today.  That did not happen.

Will call them again tomorrow.  This is very frustrating as I cannot do anything else until this is fixed.

Anyone else have this issue?

My sister and I have been cruising on princess together for 15 years and have never had so much trouble with the app and everything else they have our names and addresses mixed up and our passports mixed up we have called and called to have it all fixed and they say they have but still mixed up we’re doing back to back on crown and at first they had it all ok now they have it all screwed up again nerve racking
