Captians Circle suite cruise credit

Perhaps someone can help me with this as I have searched and not found the answer. 

Do you receive an additional cruise credit ( 2 for the cruise) for a three day cruise?

Yes, you do. 2 cruise credits for a suite and 3 credits for solo suites. No minimum nights to qualify.

We did exactly this in May.  3 day suite repositioning from LA to Vancouver, followed by one day solo inside from Vancouver to Seattle (upgraded to a balcony, not that it mattered).  4 quick points and we'll be elite after our next "normal" cruise in December.

how many actual cruise days will you have to reach that level based on cruise credits ?

We aren't doing it based on cruise days.  Elite is from 16th completed cruise credits, with 2 for suite or solo, 3 for suite and solo, 1 for everything else, or 151+ cruise days.  We're achieving Elite status by completed cruise credits.  I only have 68 completed days.  You don't get to accumulate double cruise days for suites or solos.

we will also reach that level with 82 cruise days after our scheduled 3 day cruise ... 14 cruises, with one 4 day cruise in an upsell suite

About 95 days and 12 cruises.  A long way to 151 days.

It is possible to become Elite after only five days at sea - if you do five one-day cruises solo in a suite.☺️

Or with only two cruises.  Two "'Round the World" cruises in inside cabins, would do it.

As I understand it, Princess created the loyalty club in order to increase a passenger's desire to sail again on Princess rather than some other cruise line.  In short, the purpose of the loyalty club is to increase the profit made by Princess.

There has been a lot of discussion about the fairness of counting both cruise credits and days aboard ship as means to achieving a higher level in the loyalty club.  Most comments I have read tend to favor doing away with counting cruise credits.  People who pay extra to sail solo or in a full suite have a reason not to do that.  

I can see only one way to even things up so everyone has to do the same thing in order to move up in the Captains' Circle loyalty club.  Have only one metric and that is the amount of money you have spent with Princess.

Lol I hit Elite with only 68 days too! We did a couple of suites and I did 2 solo cruises. Now my DH is crabbing that he's still platinum. I tried to tell him it don't matter as long as one of us hit Elite.

We're taking the long way by counting days as we like taking longer cruises. When you made elite before your DH, were you able to use the free laundry perk for both of you? 

 

I'm assuming the answer is yes, but since my DW is 10 days behind me and I'll make Elite before she does, that's the only elite perk we are really interested in. Well, that one as well as swapping everything one time in the cabin fridge for bottles of water for free.

I just put all the laundry in the bag. Nobody has ever said anything. Last cruise it was myself and my 2 grand - daughters. I put all of their laundry in no problem.  I like swapping out the mini bar for the 2 coffee cards.  I think he'll actually be Elite after our next cruise in December he's going to get 2 cruise credits for that one.

Why would anyone care what anyone else does to achieve a higher level? It’s not like they’re out anything.

We made Elite with 60 days and could have done it in 56 if they'd counted our first Princess cruise, which was in a suite, as 2 credits.  But it was before the program.  Love those West Coast Getaways.  We now have enough days to make it - so maybe the loyalty program works?

HAL counts on board spend towards your loyalty status - they say they don't count Casino spend - darn.

Sounds awful to me. We find 7 day cruises way too short. We did two 4 day cruises when I was working as that was all we could fit into our schedule at the time. Crazy short cruises. We will become Elite after our upcoming cruise next month. We'll have 13 cruises and 154 days. The TA back to the US after that cruise will be our first as Elite.

I know...I know. It's not that I disagree but the green-eyed monster comes out when I think of my cost vs. those paying just a few thousand to make elite. I'm over it. Enjoy that next cruise and see you on board in November!

My sister made Elite before ever cruising.  She became a TA with Several courses from Princess.  As a perk she was given Elite.   Too bad on first cruise she wasn’t aware of all the perks.  Example priority boarding.  We stood in line to board over an hour in Seattle   Finally get to front of line and is told her and the rest of her party could have gone in different line.  

I will catch up.  After next cruise I will be platinum.  Solo cruising has some advantages that I guess I pay extra for
