They are leaving port a 9pm according to someone on board.  They are headed up the Hudson and are going to go around the Statue of Liberty and then anchoring for the night.  Headed out at 5:30 am for a sea day and then Boston on Saturday according to what this person is posting.

Probably the nor'easter stalled off of Cape Cod.  Isn't Anthem headed to Canada?

Yes.  Boston is predicting scattered showers for Saturday and none for Portland.   I guess the question is what's really going to happen.

The showers are not the issue.  There is a high wind advisory through tomorrow for the Cape and the Islands.  They are seeing gusts close to 50mph on Nantucket right now.  Plus there is a high surf advisory.  This storm is stalled off shore.  We are sailing Serenade to Bermuda from Boston on Sunday and hope this storm moves along so the ship can come down from Canada.  We live 15 miles from the port, so we have been watching this storm.

I was wondering if she would make it out today. Thanks for posting this.  We did the Statue of Liberty loop on the 9/12 NE cruise and it was spectacular.  Safe sailing to all onboard.

Did same on our Aug. 29th sail.  Left Halifax and speeded to Bayonne to avoid the hurricane.  Ported in Bayonne overnight and disembarked the next day.

Someone on board has posted that 9 pm the circle the Statue of Liberty and then sail around NY harbor and then sail for Boston tomorrow.  At least that's the plan.

Anyone have that link handy to the camera showing the ship and the harbor in Bayonne. Like to try to catch the sail around  the Statue.

Welcome to the nor'easter. This storm didn't have too much rain, but alot of the typical wind. Pushes big waves into shore line with lots of local flooding.

Big news on tv was restaurant was flooded while people wete eating. Had to be evacuated.

We have these storms in fall, and spring usually.

Little Britain, that is the most awsome picture of Manhattan.

  • Thanks 1
