500 day celebration

We are leaving on a cruise in a few days and just printed our travel summary.  I see under Special Services a "500 cruise day celebration (value $114)". Does anyone know what this is?

We received:

bottle of champagne

chocolate covered strawberries

flower arrangement

recognition & certificate at the Captain's Circle event

visit to the bridge

That is considered a "Milestone Cruise" (They start at 500 days and are every 250 days from then on). I am not sure what all the benefits are since we were at 750 by the time they were first introduced (Another change as they had also been done by number of cruises starting at 50). Things that were included; flowers in stateroom, bridge tour, breakfast at Sabatinis each day of the cruise, dinner at specialty restaurant, chocolate covered strawberries, bottle of wine and introduction at MTP party-Might have included MTP luncheon

I may be going on another solo cruise. I'm already 14 days ahead of DH. By the time I reach 500 days, I may be 100 or more days ahead of him. Will they celebrate both of our milestones or will his be skipped since he already celebrated with me?

If you talk to the circle host, they will tell you amenities can vary for the milestone as they say they have the right to modify the program at any time, as previously it was cruise credits not days. This is also why they say you will not find it written down/documented anywhere.

 

500 days is the current first milestone, and bridge tours are not guaranteed. It is not till 750 days that suite breakfast benefits are included. 

 

If you are part of a couple and one has celebrated a milestone, once the other passengers reaches a milestone, it will also be celebrated/recognized.

We hit 500 days on our cruise in December, nothing in the travel summary yet.

This is only a guess, but the OP stated they are leaving in a few days, so I am thinking the milestone notation may not show up in your travel summary till 6 days before your December cruise. It has been my experience your loyalty OBC shows up in the travel summary 6 days before the cruise. Loyalty OBC is giver per household for cruise credits starting at 21 of $25 and maxes out at $100 for cruise credit 52 or more.

Each one should be celebrated individually- DW and I have a similar situation and a couple of times we have had both celebrated on different cruises. We are just about 45 days apart so it will depend on the length of the cruise. Presently trying to plan on the longest cruise possible to celebrate 🙂

I was lucky as I reached my 50th cruise just before the changeover, then on my next cruise reached 500 days and got a second celebration 🙂  Still a long way to go to reach 750 but I'm trying lol

Separate recognition during the cruise where each reaches 500 days.

We (husband and I) each have the same number of days, so does that mean we get 2 celebrations???

If you both reach 500 days on the same voyage then you will receive only one of the "hard" gifts such as the flowers, wine and strawberries. You will each receive recognition at the Captain's Circle event.

No not requested. At times the captain may not allow bridge visits for operational reasons. If you receive an invitation you are not supposed to mention it. Just a very few are escorted to the bridge by security. I guess I shouldn't be posting this.

You’re safe. One would need to know the meeting location, the password “rumpelstiltskin” and the double secret handshake to get by the security staff.

I celebrated 500 days on the Christmas cruise last week and received flowers, champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and our group had breakfast at Sabatini’s every morning with amazing service.
There were 2 other couples celebrating the same milestone on that cruise.

I was told that the bennies are at the discretion of the CC host.

So how did you 500 day celebration cruise go? Did you receive everything you were supposed to?

My DH is allergic to most flowers especially in such a small cabin space like on the ship. I'm thinking something could be substituted for the flowers, like a Specialty dinner perhaps? I've read here on CC that some people even received a dinner with the celebration package.

We got the flowers, champagne and a visit to the bridge.  It was fascinating. No breakfast at Sabatini's but no matter as we are not big breakfast eaters.  There were several more folks, some with 500, 750 and 1000 days.

347 days and counting here, but we've already been to the Capt's (Tony) most traveled cruiser lunch.  Must have been on a cruise in the Caribbean where there are lots of younger and less well-traveled pax than us <g>!  Don't think we'll ever reach 500 at our ages.

You always have a better chance of going to one of the luncheons in Alaska and the Panama canal.

For some reason those trips attract the younger crowd with less days.

They also attract people who see those destinations as a once in a lifetime so not as many elites as you will find on trans Atlantic cruises. Plus Alaska and Panama usually are more expensive especially Alaska
