I like going to Horseshoe Bay beach.  Possibly my favorite of any beach that I've been to (although that's a hard choice to make).

I also loved going to Horseshoe Bay Beach. The first time I was there was 1973.

Hydrocodone is 1.5 x more potent than morphine. Tramadol is 0.1x the equivalent of morphine. So that is why you found it less effective.

Tramadol is also equivalent to Oxycodone .

Have either of you tried to sous vide lobster tail?

Hum... nope.  I would definitely try that thought.   Oddly enough,  we had whole Lobsters 🦞 yesterday for my DD birthday.  Leftovers today along with grilled burgers 🍔

I haven't either but been considering it.  Not many options here.  About all that's available is frozen tails from the grocery store.

Whole lobster sounds great!  When I was a child we lived in Massachusetts for a year.   My dad often prepared whole lobster.

Happy Birthday 🎂 to DD!

It took several attempts by the Japan Coast Guard to position itself perfectly next to the ship in order to lift a passenger off the ship for medical care.

Just in case no one saw it, there is a geomagnetic storm that may let some of us in the north see the Northern lights.  They may be visible tonight and tomorrow night.

Hoping for the clouds to clear out.

They say that they are visible in Europe and UK now, since it is already dark there.

This shot was taken not far from where we live, not my picture, a local photographer that shares their pics on many of the social media sites.  Beautiful sunset last night.

Yes, I'm hoping the clouds get out of here in time.

Cruise starting great. Just announced we are skipping Bermuda due to weather conditions and first port is now day five.

That's sad, we love Bermuda.  I hope the weather is good for your trip to bahamas.  Enjoy😊

Our sunset.  Home tomorrow.  For a sea day we were busy.  A tornado wrecked havoc 14 miles north of us and spent a lot of time on the phone walking the house sitters through powering up the generator etc.  Thank goodness we only have branches down.  How many we will find out tomorrow.

Disregard...I tried to edit but was too late.  I was thinking your 1st port was CocoCay since Bermuda was cancelled.

A question for @Ocean Boy and others who have visited Bermuda and have so enjoyed it there.

My DH and I have traveled to Bermuda at least thirteen times beginning in 1983.

We loved Bermuda on our first trip there and, obviously, made it a frequent vacation destination both with cruises and resort stays.

Before our last visit there last June, we took a cruise on the Summit there in 2018.

On the 2018 visit, we found Bermuda to be the wonderful place we knew. Fast forward to 2023 and we found many changes there, not for the good.

The changes may have been a

result  of the pandemic , or a a change in the Bermuda society. We found many resorts closed, including the Fairmont Southampton Princess-the large pink hotel on the hill.

Many of the stores based in Hamilton have also closed-Blucks, Trimimghams and the Irish Linen Shop to name a few.

The beaches remain beautiful as well as the landmarks-Gibbs Hill Lighthouse, the world’s smallest drawbridge and the Cathdral in Hamilton.

I have to admit that we felt sadness in seeing all the changes.

I think it is true that “you can’t go home again” because a familiar and loved place is so different from when you first discovered it.

Now, to my question. For those who have enjoyed trips to Bermuda, did you notice the changes I have described if you have visited in the past few years?

We would hope that recent upswing in the  tourism economy would help restore Bermuda to the lovely and welcoming country it once was for so many appreciative visitors.

MJ🙋🏻‍♀️

Oh no, that is sad to read.   Our last time there was fall of 2019.  We have also done cruises and family land vacations with either hotels or house rentals.  Always near and dear with our family.

I had no idea the Fairmount Southampton had closed.

We have a September cruise booked on Liberty.  But I may have to change to October as my Boss was gifted by his Wife a 12 night cruise of UK for the same time.  I'm not allowed off when he is off.

Rainbow this evening.  There was a double rainbow at one point but I didn’t have my phone for a pic.

Beautiful rainbow!

We booked this because of timing and price. We wanted to do Symphony since it is doing its first summer out of Bayonne but it was pricey. We are doing nine days for significantly less than what we could have done seven on Symphony. I wasn’t sure about the older ship but it is well maintained. Our cabin carpet needs replacing but is clean. We prefer the cabin features of the new ships but not a big deal. Food has been good so far. Chops was excellent last night. Best food and service we have had in recent years.

MDR tonight will be interesting. We had early seating on our reservation but they moved us to MTD. Went to have it fixed yesterday and they “put us on the list” of those that needed correcting. Was supposed to have a note by 4pm today. Nothing yet. Not expecting it at this point. Went to MDR earlier and was told they are fixing it now.

Casino is crazy smoky, so that’s going to save us money. We just saw the ice show and it was the best we have seen on any ship!  Great skating without a ton of props like some of the shows. Lots of C&A members on this sailing. Tons of families too. Haven’t heard a kid total yet but lots more than expected with school still in session.

If someone could flip that last picture for me that would be great. I can’t get it to flip on my phone. Thanks.

Thank you. Glad to see Lady Liberty is still holding up very well. Looking at the pictures makes me wish I had pulled the trigger a little sooner and booked either the May 9th or 23rd itineraries. I'm still looking & may book something later in the year. The 9 day sailings out of NJ are one of my favorites, length-wise and port-wise.

I loved Liberty, and my daughter said it was her favorite.  We had the best cabin steward on that ship.

Sentimental favorite for me too. She was my first ever cruise in 2008 that got us hooked on cruising. Booked another cruise right away for 6 months later. She was also the last cruise I took with the Mrs and Little Miss HBE4 so it seems appropriate to resume my cruise career with her. 🙂

How about those Canucks!!!

I'm definitely missing the chaos that would be sweeping my old home town...  🙂

How about a rematch of 1994 Cup finals? 😉🙂

A few of the sports writers in the NY Media have been trying to draw parallels between this years team & the 1994 team that won the cup. Things like both the Rangers & Knicks having playoff success at the same time (happens less often than you think),  the Rangers 7-0 playoff start with a first year coach to some of the more ridiculous things the solar eclipse and earthquake that occurred around the same time in 1994 & 2024.  Oh, and OJ being in the news both years. 94 was the Bronco chase and his passing earlier this year.  They might be trying to stretch the point with that last one.
