Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

I love Dog's blue ball fountain!!!!!!  I have a little fountain out on my patio as well.

I have to report that after almost 2.5 years of pandemic life in which my hubs did not ever test positive...guess what?  Yep, he went back to San Antonio for work for one week and Bingo!  He gets there on a Sunday, sees his clients on Monday and by Friday he was pretty sick! So he returned home to Arkansa early on Saturday so as not to infect his family he was staying with and on Sunday he tested positive at Walgreen's!  We were prepared before he arrived home on Saturday...I had made the Hillbilly House ready (we have a second home across the road we use for guests) so he went directly there so we are in quarantine for at least 5 days.  Since then his brother who lives with his folks has gotten sick and we now think his 80 yr old Mom is too!  Eiyiyiyi!  Today he feels pretty good, taste is off a little but much better so he's moving home on Friday.  I guess it's the Omicron version.  BTW, we are vxd up completely.  O well, guess it's just the resident flu now.

At first I was worried sick about him, remembering my brother who died January 2021 from Covid lung pulmonary embolism, but I just came to the conclusion that they're not reporting much on deaths from this version any more so I quit worrying.  Moving on.  I feel fine and he's on the mend.

Ugghh!     So frustrating that we do whatever we can to avoid but seems like everyone will have it at one time or another.     Everyone in my family has had it.   I am the only one that has not (unless I had and didn't know).

One of my neighbors that is a hairdresser now has it and I saw her sitting on her patio last night and hollered over to see how she was doing.    She said the worst part for her has been the nasty headache and feeling so tired and weak the last couple of days.

So sweet and innocent.    Looks like Charlie is going to be bigger than Lizzie.    Was Lizzie the runt of the litter?

Your dinner last night looks Delicious!     As well as the Black Manhattan.   I have never had one and will have to try one.

Lizzy was the runt. Charlie is really long and he will always be a lot bigger than her. I will say when they wrestle she wins a lot. She is not afraid for her pint size.

Let me know what you think of the Back Manhattan?

My 1st tomato was picked from the garden yesterday!  😆 My neighbor's daughter,  who will be 4 in August,  came over with her 2 sisters to see the garden.  One yelled out no! The other said, she picked a tomato.  The good thing is they loved visiting the garden.  The one that is going into 4th grade next year said early in the morning she sees a deer walking around the garden.  She says when she comes out they run.

Too Cute!

Congratulations on your first tomato🍅

I was tying up some supports yesterday and discovered I have a pepper growing.     No signs of tomatoes yet, but lots of yellow flowers.

I am really impressed with the core gardening and starting to trust that I don't have to water all the time like I used to do.

It's been hot here and everything is thriving.

How is Caden's flower (zinnia) business doing?

Have you watched the prequel to Yellowstone 1883? It's really good.

Sorry I'm late. I hope Ryan had a great Birthday.

I love seeing your pups, Greg!

Jim and I watched 1883 (loved it!) before we binged on Yellowstone.  Wow, Yellowstone was so intense at times!  Can't wait for a new Season.

Ryan had his friend party on Sunday, and Family party yesterday.

She is a cutie.  She was born the same day as Corrie.

I have several small tomatoes showing.  I think tapping near the flowers really make a difference.   Tomatoes and peppers are self pollinators.

There are flowers all over the peppers with a few showing.  The Jimmy Nardello pepper plant has two about 2 inches long.

I was wondering today how you thought the core was working.  My neighbor's yard worker came over had was admiring the pepper plants.  He was asking if I was going to water.  It is hard for me to explain core gardening to someone who understands little English.

Caden and mom will be setting up at the City Market for the first time.

How are your Delicious tomatoes doing.  Mine are out growing the others.  I am starting to wonder if I should of left more room for them.

I started some peas and pole beans last week in some grow bags.  Some broke ground for the first time this week.

In case anyone is interested in Sea Dog's Black Manhattan recipe.

3oz Rye

1oz Amaro Averna

2 dashes Black Walnut Bitters

garnish with bourbon soaked cherry

In a glass mixing container with ice stir ingredients for 30 seconds and strain into martini glass and garnish with cherry.

Great day doing yard work and was able to capture some decent pics of Charlie.

I hope Caden is successful in selling his flowers - Good Luck to Caden!!     Does he plan on selling the plants or fresh picked flowers?

I have to look at tags but it's either the Amish paste or Delicious that our out growing the others.

I have some eggplants that look really good too.

My green beans are doing well and should have a batch to pick in a week or less.    They were the only thing that seemed like a slow start   Maybe because I planted the seed when the temps were still going up and down between 50's and 60's, but they like cold weather

Love the pics.

I hate that our Hawaii cruise got canceled.  Afterwards we are wondering if it would be better just to fly there and enjoy.  We need to research.

Probably 20 years ago I did that.  I picked the Big Island to explore all the way around.  It was a lot of fun.  Stayed in Kona first and explored north, did a flume ride, swam with turtles, went to a luau.  Headed south, saw a lot of scenery and stayed at the volcano (not sure if that is possible now).   We took a helicopter ride, explored all the park, bought a sweatshirt since I was freezing.  Then we drove to Hilo where we explored the gardens and took a horseback ride.  The only thing we didn't do was drive through the center of the island since the rental car company would not have been pleased if they found out.

He was riding his bike and two 12 year old boys knocked him off his bike and when he was on the ground they were punching him. They were caught and arrested.

Yesterday I went out and walked about 50 feet.Today I walked 4 blocks.I hope to increase my walking each time I go out.Today I saw and spoke to a neighbor who I last had a conversation with in 2019.

Excellent news Lenny.

I'm really pleased for you.

Graham.
