Possible casino scenario

In Bethlehem, PA on Monday a woman was smoking while on oxygen had the oxygen catch fire, burned her face and throat, killing her.  So there is that side effect.

FYI, oxygen does not catch fire.  It supports other things (like clothes) to burn.  And to catch fire easier and burn hotter.

FYI, according to WHO, there is only one study, that is not peer reviewed, that suggests that smokers have a lower COVID infection rate.

But if they do get infected, smoking is an underlying condition that will it more likely to have serious consequences from COVID.

Not really. I gave it a shot over 4th of July weekend and didn’t like it so much that I cancelled my other reservations. I will go back when smoking is allowed in the casino.

You’re one person. More non smokers will take you place.

Depends what the definition of “works” means. Cruise lines cater to the casino guests and their habits. Thats why smoking has been allowed.

On many cruises, 25% or more of the adults onboard are sailing on a casino offer because of the revenue they generate. 1 in 4 adults is sailing on a comped or discounted cruise from Casino Royale or a land-based casino.

The smoking ban and drinks ban in ACY was a big, big turn off. You could not even take a sip of water without getting thrown off a table. there are no indoor restaurants, so wait time at non socially distant take out windows are over an hour long. And when you get food, you can eat in your room or out on the street.

Can you imagine a cruise where you had to be on an open deck or in your room to have a drink? That’s what ACY is right now. No indoor smoking, eating, or drinking unless you are in your hotel room.

So understand the facts before posting “success” stories. It continues to be far from a success.

My understanding is, they have players. Other Casinos are non smoking a do just fine without smokers. The sky isn’t going to fall when all smoking is banned indoors. That day is coming and COVID19 has shortened that time.

Our Indian run casinos have opened up with slot social distancing, 3 per table table games, they are currently not opening the table games that involve players touching the cards, (3-card poker, Mississippi Stud, Texas hold-em) , no alcohol on the gaming floor or the bars, everyone must wear a mask, staff and customers.  We have not visited them since they have re-opened since we play 3-card & Miss. stud.

I have to agree.  We are regulars in AC and I don’t think smoking will be back anytime soon.  The dealers hate it.  My honeybuns plays in the Poker Room and it has been non-smoking for a long time and they all survived.  Alcohol bans though need to go🍾

The smokers are always going to say the sky is falling.

Non smoking casinos on all of Celebritys ships has been very successful. 👍 RC needs to follow Celebritys lead.

Yeah,,, but with 3 per table, you are still back to back (2' away) from the person at the next table. Even on tables with plexiglas, you are separated from the person next to you and the dealer, but back to back (nearly touching) the person at the next table. And they certainly aren't trying to keep people 6' away from seated guests.  In ACY, there were markings on what is 6' away from seated players,,,, which absolutely no one observed.

Indoor eating and drinking also banned since march in most of pa nj NYC and others.   I saw on my local news a guy brought in a cup of coffee into ac casino and he was told to throw it out or leave the building.  He threw it out while news filmed him.

When it’s 100%. We’ll be happy as the other non smokers. 😇

FYI....in my follow up to the hotel for my stay and my cancellation I made sure to let them know why I was not happy & why I cancelled my next trip.
As long as smokers continue to let the hotels/cruise lines know why they cancel............

I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you 😇

I guess you’ll need to find another form of entertainment. Now would be a good time for you to quit. It’s been 20 years now since I quit.

Just got back from Resorts AC . I thought it strange that they even shut off the water fountains. REALLY!! After several hours playing you need to go to your room or outside and find water/soda. At Mohegan sun a couple of weeks ago restaurants open and bars but masks were required. Was very nice not crowded at all. All safe guards were in place.

Girlfriend told me public restrooms were open in casinos and had an attendant that sprays down your stall when you are done.  Same for both casinos she went to this week.

We didn't see that at all. We were in 4 casinos. Bathrooms filthy as ever.

Yep. Probably only good thing to come from COVID19, banning smoking indoors.

Be interesting. As is I do multiple 10+ niters each yr on Radiance Class. At least once a Cruise they Fuel up banning all open deck/outdoor smoking that day. Without the Indoor Casino/smoking area there'd be no smoking on board during that approx 6hr period...

And that would be a problem, why?
