Diamond Lounge

Recommended Posts

Because of covvid 19 we haven't gone anywhere for a while. We are Diamond and planning a trip on the vision of the seas. Do they still have the Diamond lounge in 2021 dec.? We love those perks and yes it is a deciding factor for us to book this ship. Thank You for your replies.

Lol there is a thread already going about if pinnacles can still get into the suite lounge. I'm assuming this thread is just for more fun. Hahahahaha.

Singapore closed diamond lounge and gave free drinks on the card. No one knows how it will be out of israel the next to sail, much less usa, so it's all speculation. No one knows if it will be open, ormhave free drinks issued. Imo rcl should take this chance and do necessary changes to uncrowd the diamond lounge ...but no one knows.  It's a wait and see.

Who knows what it will be like when they return.

My personal guess is that they will expand the voucher scheme like they are doing on the Singapore sailings to avoid overcrowding.  So DL for the D+, and Ds get to use their vouchers at the bars.

Good answer. It maybe 100% incorrect once our cruising starts, but its as good as can be given now.  I Don't blame the OP for asking.

thank you, No it was a question i hoped someone could answer me. Not a joke question. I haven't been on cruise critic for a year or so. And haven't traveled for a while. I did see post about if pinnacle could go to Diamond lounge but I never saw my question. However; I am sure its somewhere on this site. I know some ships may not be having the diamond promo anymore. That's why I asked this question. And if they substitute a voucher program that's something at least. I would think by Dec. all should be vaccinated and it shouldn't be an issue anymore. I read that they updated the diamond lounge on the Vision and i wondering if they decided to do away with this perk all together. thank you for your replies. I certainly appreciate your time to post.

I'd think we'll have a better idea of the lounge rules once sailing restarts.  If access to the Diamond lounge is your deciding factor, I'd wait to book.  (Although CWC may help)

Another good answer in the same thought.   With that covered, I won't feel bad hijacking the thread. One speculated thread was the cruise line requiring you to use their excursion and not let  you off the ship if you don't. That might be my only factor in not returning to cruising. Despite my own stated intentions, I looked at excursions for my upcoming Sept cruise and I think I know now how Royal is going to make up the lost revenue.

Certainly a reasonable question, and that is why we come here.   I've been on ships with Diamond Lounges and without and used the voucher system.  Royal was right in the middle of whatever their plan is/was/will be   when cruising stopped.  When it starts again, they may do a 180 degree turn.  Someone might have impeccable logic with strong facts in their speculation, but Royal could choose not to follow logic.

Well if pinnacle can go to diamond lounge, then that to me says there is a diamond lounge to go to.

None of us have cruised in a year from the usa, so none can say how it will be when cruising resumes. But I have seen the diamond lounge threads get heated. It's like asking if I can remove my tips lol.

Singapore put 3 drinks on diamonds cards, to be used any time during the day. Even breakfast. 4 for diamond plus etc. This so far is our only hint of what might happen. There has always been a lot of talk about making it a D+ and above lounge. There are now too many diamonds, and now a double pts event. There was even a thread how many will turn diamond with the double pts event. When it came out heated discussions if too many diamonds will be created, and already crowded diamond lounge will be worse.

I dont care what they do, but I dont drink that much. I just have seen how these lounge threads can get heated. People are home bored and love to attack. Maybe the pinnacle thread and suite lounge will head them off lol.

We are all wanting to know how it will be, all of it, when cruising resumes. We all wish we had a working model of a crystal ball but mine is still fuzzy.

There is more to the DL than drinks. What about the specialty coffee machine? How about the morning continental breakfast and the evening snacks? Come on three drinks .... a coffee or two at breakfast and then what do you have .... one drink ( and what if you want a soda after a day off the ship?) Then no drinks.

Doesn't seem like much for D and D+ loyalty.

Nobody knows. Royal let go the C&A Ambassador shorty after cruise stopped. That should tell you a lot. I always say, you want certain amenities, book the Appropriate cabin. 😎

Ok so that's why the drinks on a card. Who knows. All we can so is speculate.

Also, Royal has stated that 80% of guests are new to Royal.  I suspect the number of Diamond Singaporeans cruising right now is pretty low.  If Quantum had a DL closing it wouldn't impact very many.

The same move here will impact many more.  They might have to go there, only time will tell.  However by the time the CDC lets us sail it might be a moot point and lounges can be open.

Quantum doesn't have a DL.

Really. did not know that.  What did they do with the space?

When I sailed her out of Bayonne, and as a D+ had the flexibility to go to the D & C lounges.

High roller casino space.

I'm betting it goes back to a DL when it leaves Asia but who knows?

There have been zero new diamonds in the last year so I don't think double points will create more diamonds than there would have been anyway. Twice as many new diamonds in the next year due to double points, averaged with zero diamonds in the past year.

That's true now, but wasnt when the event was announced and the thread with the poll was hot.

Agree time changes all our guesses, and will probably change them again.
