I really hope that another CC poster--Heidi13--will respond to my post as well as yours.  He is a Canadian and an experienced cruise ship Captain.  He and I have had a few conversations about the maritime traffic scheme situation in the Strait in the past.  There has been no input from the gentleman since cruising from Seattle began.  He knows more than any of us, I suspect, as to what has taken place with regard to the navigation of the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

I cannot get through a cruise without at least one order of those fries from the Dive In!  I agree, the closing time is way too early.

On our 2019 cruise on "K" there was a reception for Mariner 3 and above in Crows Nest.

 

There was a reception for 4 & 5 Star Mariners this morning (1st sea day) in the Ocean Bar. It was well attended and the Capt and HD (plus some others)  made an appearance. There will be a second event on Friday (2nd/last sea day)

You might just be on to something Bruce! The rather dull light inside my cranium got a little brighter so I just relocated to inside the NL and the weather/WIFI is just fine in there. I'm planning on spending the night in here tonight behind the curtain, on the sofa, with the French Made, I mean Professor Plum, and the metal wrench

You have to print the boarding pass? You can't you the Navigator app?

I have been away from the dam boards a while... are there nightlights in the bathrooms yet? It was nice to have that on the Celebrity Summit. Otherwise I need to pack the usual click light (or the multi color vodka promo light from a foodie event!)

Has anyone tried the mobile ordering from the navigator app for dive in or NY pizza? Seems to be a good way to get the cheese fries and cannonball

At 6:30 PM (Sat evening) we made our way to the Tamarind Bar, formerly the Silk Den Bar, for our long awaited meet with Alias Chief, aka Bruce and his wife Sue, both long-time U.S. Air Force vets so I was obliged to salute both. He is a rock star and she a stud muffin! All kidding aside, really nice folks with lots of interesting tales from their service to our country! Really glad to finally hook up with both!

 

The four of us had a 7:00 PM dinner reservation at the co-located Tamarind Restaurant which we were all looking forward to. The menu in there has changed, especially when it comes to the entrees. Also gone, of course Covid-related, is the incredible "expanding" napkin. We had a very pleasant and interesting dinner conversation and a nice meal consisting of Krupuk (Indonesian shrimp crackers) the Satay (Sate) sampler, red curry chicken cheesecake for desert and a cocktail called "Penicillin," and an espresso afterwards

 

post dinner, we spent time listening to the B.B. King All-Stars (packed house) and the two piano players (also crowded). One could not help but notice the casino doing very good business, it also was packed! 

 

We called it a night around 11:30 PM and were rocked to sleep by the motion in the ocean as Nieuw A sailed northbound in the Pacific off the west coast of big Vancouver Island. Embarkation day was in the books!

Yes we have a purple glowing night light in our bathroom. I was under the impression it was to terminate, with extreme prejudice, flies that made it on the Nieuw A despite the dapper efforts by the ship's exterminator, a weightlifter/body builder from Austria

We ordered Dive-In and Pizza on the July 24th Cruise through the App and it worked great.  It lets you know that they received the Order, it’s being filled and when it’s done.  We love the Fries and somedays ordered just some Cheese Fries for pick up.  You can custom order, too, if you want extra sauce, no tomatoes, etc.

Me and stud muffin ( she’s still pondering over that) really enjoyed our evening with you and Maria.

 

So far the cruise is as one remembers except mask. As we are getting closer to Juneau the scenery is picking up. A cooler 56 degrees this morning. See you out and about!

Bruce, how was the Mask requirement in BB King.  Were they required in there?  How about the other Lounges like Billboard?
