We've cruised out of NJ on Quantum.  The port is not her issue.

Just replying to you saying your wife won't cruise out of there because of issues that have happened.  Is that because she thinks the ship is "cursed" lol?

Welcome back! I've missed your "Live" reviews, and this one definitely gets me ready for our 10-17 sailing on the Oasis.

Can you confirm if you received your Diamond Plus amenity in your cabin? There was some discussion that they discontinued them.

Just trying to figure out if we need to bring wine, or count on the perk.

Have fun!

I have not received anything yet. . .I thought I remember getting gifts on the 2nd night. I will ask the Loyalty Desk on Deck 12 MID.

There were a few people who have stated that as if it was fact lol.  Of course people forget other ships have been impacted by storms, had emergencies, etc.  We've been on ships (GR) that had 4 emergency evacs (two by boat, two in port) on one trip.  it happens.

We're on Harmony Nov 28 and Dec 5 for a b2b and wonder how full that ship will be. I'd love to have less than 50% onboard.  We cruised on EX the cruise after Sandy and 900 people had cancelled.  It was noticeable and made for a less crowded trip.

Hello everyone and good day. I really can't think of another day that was as nice as today when it comes to weather at Sea.

Oasis of the Seas has bought us a delightful day at sea along with her passengers. We have experienced sunny skies with light winds. With blue skies and calm seas it has been an extremely delightful voyage so far.

I had lunch again today at El Loco Fresh. It was very good. The beef burrito and chicken soft taco really hit the spot.

I spoke with several managers today about the passenger count on board Oasis of the Seas this week.

It has been suggested that the passenger count was around 2500. Two food and beverage managers also suggested that the ship is currently at 43% capacity. Casino Royale manager suggested we were at 42% capacity.

It has been suggested that capacities will likely go down when Oasis repositions to Miami in a few weeks. There is much more competition in south Florida than there is in Bayonne, NJ. The crew has been very conscious of ship sanitization and cleanliness. Maybe they are faking it but they sure seem like they are enjoying being at work and being with passengers.

There were many activities scheduled for today, and I was able to to schedule some news watching along with a couple trips to the Diamond Club, and Starbucks. . .

Thanks for tuning in. Here are a few pics from today. . ..

I can confirm they were running a Buy one get second at 50% off in the Boardwalk when I saw them.

Was that when you purchased it beforehand or if you purchased it once you were onboard?  We are sailing 12/12 and haven't seen anything to exciting yet.  I figured black Friday would be a good time to purchase but can't beat that.

No, didn’t purchase it.  Stopped by the table to inquire.  We purchased two packages pre cruise but were just curious about the deal keeping in mind we get a 30% off onboard beverage package purchase and considering we get 6 included drinks a day.  Regardless, we are having a very nice cruise. Did we get a deal?  Who knows.

I'm curious to know how things are being handled in the casino regarding covid protocols?  We sail on the Ovation on Friday and I'm trying to get an idea before we go.  Are masks required?  Do they still allow smoking?  Is there any social distancing on the tables?  I've been given different information from each Casino Royale call center rep I've spoken to.  If you don't mind sharing details, I'd sure appreciate it!  Hope you have a fabulous cruise and that the casino is VERY Radio friendly!

We were on 9/19 Oasis sailing. No masks required in casino, some folks wore them. Staff checking vaccination bracelet at entrances. Smoking allowed on one side, on our cruise it was awful— smoke permeated through the casino bar. We usually sit there but couldn’t with the heavy smoke smell. I did not see any distancing at tables or slots.

Every ship can be different, and I can't speak for Ovation, but the Allure casino was mask free with little to no social distancing.  There may have been some blocked off slot machines...can't recall for certain.  I was at a nearly full craps table, shoulder to shoulder with several other people.  Half of the casino was smoking, and half was no smoking, although it you're sensitive to smoke, you could still smell it in the no smoking side.

Was on Ovation September 3 sailing—casino: no masks, yes smoking (except at a small area of machines), didn’t appear to be any “social distancing” at tables. Casino is considered “vaccinated” area. “Everyone” areas require masks—that includes hallways, WJ, 270 most of the time, shops, desks, etc. Signs are pretty clear stating “masks required” where they are—and yes they enforce this even though all over age 12 are required to be vaccinated to board.

There are Casino employees at each entrance to make sure you wearing the wrist band that indicates you are vaccinated.

I would say that there are acrylic panels between all employees and passengers, but there is no social distancing to speak of in there. All of the signage is in place, but there didn't appear to be much enforcement.

Smoking is allowed for the starboard side of the casino. Masks are not required but they are being worn by most.

We've cruised out of NJ 7 times on three ships (Anthem, Ex and X Summit.  We haven't had any issues that I can recall.  Heck, we've had more issues out of Baltimore (10 times out of there) than anywhere else but it doesn't stop us from going from there.  One trip we had 30 ft seas coming back to Baltimore.

Waiting for more Radio updates 🙂

We have also cruised out of Bayonne on anthem, explorer, summit,  many times, never had any issues. I believe one of the early returns during this start up was a crew member. “Older” crowds sail from everywhere.
