We are fine. Jon is sick… but it is not serious. I am waiting. There is very little hope that I will escape this. We are newlyweds. We are joined at the hip. And truth be told, there is no one in the whole world I would rather do this with.

well  we  are old weds...54 years and  we  are  still joined  at  the  hip and  he  is  also  my person....had he  caught covid  on  our  21  day  cruise....I too would have  chosen to  quarantine with  him

we  were  tested  weekly

hope you  remain  negative and  Jon has  only minor symptoms....best  of  luck  with  the  rental

Curious.

I realize this might not be your thing be would be appreciative if you or anyone else might pop in & see.

I notice that they show "TX Hold em players meet" at certain times in the casino.

In the past they have offered tournaments but list it as such--interestingly usually at those times.

Curious if it IS a tournament or just a dealer will be available for cash games (or is it an electronic table?)

Thank!

There are no longer any tournaments but they have had $1-$2 no limit holdem games going on a PokerPro-like machine. My DH has spent a lot of time on it.

Thanks for this.

Good to know, if a bit disappointing.

RCCL, NCL & Celebrity have gotten rid of those dang machines. (at least the ships we have sailed in the last number of years)

Hi Tracie and Jon, I just found your live report, shocked and sorry to hear that Jon has Covid! Hope he only has a mild case. In December we sailed on Odyssey of the Seas and on our day of disembarkation DH said his throat felt scratchy. We had been so careful wearing mask’s and following all protocols in place at that time. Mask were required when not eating or drinking. But we still saw people who were not following protocol especially on elevators. Thank goodness it was mild and we had all vaccines and booster. We were driving so we could keep away from others. I got it a few days later from DH again it was mild. Safe travels home and hope you stay well.

I hope there are some great movies on your TV!

Hopefully much better than Discovery's old movies & they never added the newer MUTS movies to the cabin's TV system despite stating they'd be added...disappointing.

For those of you on the next leg, it seems that there will be a late departure from Port Everglades. This evening the Captain announced an all aboard time of 6 PM for in transit guests. They must be allowing more time for those flying in to make it to the ship.

We are actually supposed to dock at 11pm tonight. We’ve been racing back to beat out the storm. Disembarkion is supposed to happen on time, at least as of right now. Those of us flying home tomorrow have our fingers and everything else crossed that the storm won’t affect our plans.

Thank you. Disembarkation has been slow due to the weather. Only one jetbridge is operating and facial recognition software is down so they are checking passports. Also stevedores are having a bit of a struggle with luggage with the wind and rain. 5 inches in the last 6 hours and still coming. Sure glad our flight isn’t until 1:30. Oh and they just announced that in transit guests should meet in the Princess theater at 10:15 instead of 9:15 so those who will be on the next sailing shouldn’t expect to embark on time.

I hope you are on your way home via rental car and are felling fine!

Touch base with us when you get home. I hope the rain doesn't interrupt your trip home.

Hi friends.

I promise to write more in a few days… here is the upshot.
Jon feels much much better today.  He attributes this to 4 vaccines.  I can’t argue.

I tested this morning.  I was negative. We rented a car and drove home for 10 1/2 hours.  Jon did all of the driving.  With Covid. Uphill. Both ways. Bare foot. In the snow. He is my hero.

As the day went on, I got more and more sick.  Aches, headache, nausea, low grade fever, no appetite,  and the cough.

I tested again this evening-  and that is that.  No surprise. I am positive. I am so grateful that I am home and in our bed.

When I feel a bit better, I will share about how quarantine worked.  I pinky swear.

For now, all I want to do is sleep.

More later-

Tracie, so sorry to hear how your cruise ended, but I'm so glad you both got home safely and you can recuperate at home in your own bed.  Take care of yourself.  I'm sending you positive vibes!

So enjoyed your blog until the last bit -- especially your love sonnet to the glorious TBGCS!  Was the wedding song "As Time Goes By"?

I started having symptoms and when I got home tested positive.  My symptoms are a lot like yours.  Like Jon I have had 4 vaccines so I too am hoping that is preventing things from getting any worse.

Oh Tracie, I’m so sorry to hear that you are now sick with on but so happythat you made it home. Hopefully you recover quickly. Make sure to drink a ton of fluids.
Because of my lung issues since the fire, my doctor actually put me on plaxlovid, a z pack and prescription cough syrup. I was better within days. Between that and the 3 vaccines I was fine.

So glad you were able to enjoy a few days in the Sanctuary and it was great to live vicariously through you.
looking forward to hearing how the rest of the days on the ship were once you are recovered.

Get well!

Oh Tracie - So sorry to hear you're sick. If you can get Paxlovid you should take it. It'll shorten your illness by a lot.

I'm sure you're grateful to be in your own home. Wishing  you a really speedy recovery.

I do have to tell you that, minus the cough, those are exactly the side effects I got from the vaccine and boosters!

Only lasted two days so I hope the same will be true for you.

Tracie,

Glad to hear Jon was feeling better and you both arrived home safely. So sorry to hear you now have it. Praying your symptoms are mild and you recover quickly. We made it home safely it was a little hairy driving on I 95 to I 595 then onto Alligator Alley. Some palm fronds in the road at the beginning of Alligator Alley which was a little scary with the way most people were driving even with the heavy rain. Hope everyone else arrived home safely.
