Celebrity updated their website for Bermuda testing

It's official official now...you still have to pay $40pp, but no longer required to test...(for 10/25 and later...)

So what exactly now is the $40 for?  No flaming please.  I was under the impression this was to process the covid tests for anyone entering the country.

Bermuda requires all visitors to apply and pay for a visitor's pass.  Here is the weblink to the form:

Not helping us for our October 15 cruise.  Bermuda is addicted to this wonderful revenue stream, so don't look for it to go away.

No decision has been made about the fee for after the declared emergency ends on November 30.

This is an interesting article.  I started reading more about the fee as I had to pay it 2 separate times for a land and cruise vacation.  A friend of mine is from Bermuda and had to keep paying the fee every month as she flew back and forth from US to handle family issues.  Moving forward, the island made about $22,000,000 from this fee.  If the US was that business savvy, we could have paid off the national debt with all our traffic into our country.  Regardless, I like Bermuda and I am looking forward to returning next year hopefully without all the pre cruise forms.

We have paid them $320.00 in "Entry Fees" so far this year and I'm now tired of it.

You have to go to  https://www.gov.bm/cruise-travel-authorisation start 30 days prior to departure and obtain a BERMUDA TRAVEL AUTHORIZATION.

 

UnVaxed non-bermuda passengers must still upload a copy of their Medical Insurance.    I've not done is since they dropped testing but would believe they ask you about Vax status and possibly  copy of your Vax Certificate.

The word on the Bermuda streets is the Travel Authorization requirement Is ending Nov 30. I guess that gives them time to assess the situation before Spring cruise season starts.
