We prefer Gallery One Double Tree Suites on Sunrise Boulevard.  It’s close to the beach, next door to the Galleria Mall.  There is a water taxi stop at the hotel.  We’ll be there for two nights before our February Equinox cruise!

Depends on what you want to do and how close to the beach you want to be.  Marriott Harbor Beach is a great choice for a good experience.  There are plenty of almost convenient hotels in FFL

We have stayed several times, both pre and post cruses, at the Riverside Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale.  It was recommended by a fellow cruiser and we enjoy it.

Heartedly agree with the Riverside. Great location as it is close to restaurants, shopping and a water taxi stop.
The Las Olas location can’t be beat.

Another vote for the Riverside. We stayed in the Tower, which is the newer part of the hotel. There is a Water Taxi stop right by the hotel as well as a Water Trolley stop. Shops on Los Olas are delightful and there are many restaurants nearby - the hotel has 3.

I always stay at the Conrad or Hilton on the beach. I'm staying at the Conrad in less than two weeks for my Thanksgiving cruise. They are both great properties with great pool decks. You also get complimentary loungers on the beach if you want to lay out there.

Hands down the best (but pricey) hotel is the Margaritaville Beach Resort on Hollywood Beach.  It is also a water taxi stop, but the second route, not the main one around Fort Lauderdale.  It is a newer hotel built around 2017 or 2018, and is just amazing.  Three pools, all great, and on the ocean.  The pools and the beach are basically adjoining one another, and there is a broadwalk of about two miles long that is great for shopping and eating.  But, you really never need to leave the property.  It is called a broadwalk, not a boardwalk, as it is not made of wood.  Music venue is great with outdoor bands playing every night in the band shell right on the broadwalk.  Can't say enough about this place.  Found it by accident taking the second water taxi route just to see where it went, and it stopped at the Margaritaville Resort. so we got off and walked around.  Have stayed there five times since before our cruises over the last few years.

Best answer I can give you due to the extremely limited information given is book a hotel with a water taxi stop.

Really depends on several factors such as budget (which GREATLY varies by date range), if you're going to have a car and what you're looking for in a room.

Have stayed in about 8 Hilton properties in the past 18 months, Hilton Marina offers balcony rooms overlooking the marina, near the water taxi and near a bunch of restaurants.  There is a path to walk from the hotel to marina which has lots of huge yachts.  If renting a car consider the Hilton Garden Inn in Dania Beach which has free parking, is not on the water taxi but there are about 20 restaurants within a 10min walk.

Just wanted to thank folks for the Riverside Hotel information.  We've stayed at the Hyatt Place multiple times and were booked at the Hampton Inn Airport location being Hilton members but just changed to Riverside for better location and amenities.  Looking forward to our short January Princess '80s themed cruise.

OP - for more info on Fort Lauderdale hotels and everything else tourist related, check out www.sunny.org.  You didn't mention your arrival day or budget but be forewarned that prices fluctuate greatly depending on the season (low season - summer; high season - Christmas through Easter).
