Guy’s Burger’s Fries

So, anyone know when the change to the fries served at Guy’s Burger happened? I loved the old fries. The photo is not mine.

I can report that on the Paradise they were on point as of less than a month ago. I absolutely love those fries. To hear that a change has been made in this regard is quite unsettling.

Had them on the Horizon last week and thought they were fine. Better than what you get at the Deli.

They serve Ore Ida fries now but they at least still toss them in the seasoning.

Last November on Mardi Gras they had these fries, and maybe I am in the minority here but I actually prefer them! They were crispier than the old fries, and I prefer crispy ones. 

Hopefully in a few weeks on Celebration they will have these!

This seems to get argued a lot but isn't it just preference?  One person's horrible is another's awesome.

We ate at Guy's on our cruise in Dec (2022) on Magic.  IIRC, the fries were just as good as always.  I have no idea if they were "fresh cut" or just good from frozen fries.

 

Maybe the fries served on board are varying due to inconsistency in availability, so sometimes a ship will have different-looking and tasting fries until they get replenished?

Exactly.  There was a poster a few weeks ago that called the fries "disgusting" because she did not care for the seasoning.

I'm usually too full from the burger to eat many fries.  I thought the fries were fine.😃

Just got off the Mardi Gras and they had both types of fries, the bigger ones were at the being of the cruise, and the smaller ones showed up towards the end.

I know they’re not hand cut, but I liked the new ones on the Mardi Gras a few weeks ago. To think of the amount of work that likely saves on, I’m ok with it.

I liked the Big Chicken fries much better than Guy’s.  I’ve never really seen that shape of fries before!

Although Guy's fries have gone downhill, at least they are still far better than TIME FRIES on Celebration.  They were among some of the worst fries I've ever had.  On the other hand, Big Chicken fries are awesome.  Of course, everyone's taste is subjective.

We never had Guy's fries prior to 2021 but have had them several times since. We like those fries (and the seasoning) and the ones at Big Chicken.

I'll have to wholeheartedly disagree, here.   Certainly not ALL of those special touches are gone. 

Maybe from your own special "Why am I not at Chili's?!" perspective, but certainly not from mine, and not, I think, from the perspective of most users here.  

 

And Chili's has been dead to me since they dropped the Awesome Blossom as an appetizer.  There.  I said it.  😄

Huh, that's odd.  I tried the varied offerings from Time Fries on the Mardi Gras and thought they were fine.    But, diff'rent strokes....

I saw a vlog the other day that said the original Guys fries (5 guys style) are back. Don't know if that is true for all ships. Not sure which one this was on but probably MG as those are the videos I'm watching these days...
