We enjoyed our pre-cruise stay at the Banks Mansion...a great hotel and perfect location. It was very easy to get a taxi from the taxi lineup at AMS and also from the hotel to cruise port and from cruise port back to AMS. Not necessary to pre-arrange transportation at all.

We are staying one night pre-cruise in August at the Movenpick. Very popular with cruisers as its right next door to the cruise terminal. Taxis readily available from Airport/ and hotels.

We are staying at the Doubletree near the port.

We stayed at the Doubletree prior to our cruise and it was perfect - many cruisers were there.  It is 5 min (or less) walk from train station (easy train from airport).   The Doubletree is about a 15 min walk to ship.  It is an easy walk, even with luggage,  but not straight forward, need to follow your GPS walking directions to ship.   Some people taxied to the ship but we walked and it was easy.  The Movenpick is right next to the ship (which is nice) but further from Amersterdam tourist areas than the doubletree is.  I   prefer the Doubletree location, because you are only going to make 1 trek to the ship but in our 2 days we made many treks to the canals, etc from the hotel and the Doubletree is closer to those areas.       The Doubletree has a grocery next door, starbucks on the first floor and an excellent breakfast buffet.   There is a crazy busy pedestrian / bicycle / car intersection right outside the front door of starbucks  which you will frequently be crossing - be very careful there !

Did they have bottled water in the room mini bar?  I see mixed information online.  Thanks.

I pre arranged a taxi at the airport, yes he took a credit card. Stayed at Holiday Inn Express City Hall, very close to cruise port and area restaurants and sights.

We booked 2 nights post-cruise at HIE City Hall for mid-June.  Have you stayed there yet or is this for an upcoming cruise?

We stayed there 2 nights before the cruise last year in April for our B. Isles cruise.

We are staying at Hotel Fita near the Van Gough museum.  They provide breakfast for free when you book directly with them.  We will use Uber to get to the hotel from the airport and to the cruise terminal.  Staying 3 nights pre-cruise.

We stayed a few times at the Ibis hotel next to the train station. Not top-luxury, but good value for money and very conventienly located (specially if you arrive to Amsterdam by train). Then, there is no issue with getting a taxi - and if you travel light, you are able to go on food to the cruise terminal. it's very easy, and I would say, 15mn walking distance.

We are staying at the Banks Mansion in a couple of weeks.  A couple of questions if you have the time.

Aproximately how much was the taxi to from airport to Banks.

What are some must sees within walking distance of the Banks, we are planning on Anne Frank Museum and the Red Light district.  Just wondering from you experience what not to miss.

Taxi will cost you about E,. 75,- depending traffic. Be sure to take a certified cab at the stand in front of the arrival hall, not the ""cowboys"" offering their service inside the terminal..

Please know you need to book AF house in advance online. Tickets get for sale on the 1st Tuesday of each month for the following month. No more standing inline. https://www.annefrank.org/en/museum/tickets/

You are walking distance from Rembrandtsplein, many restaurants and bars there. Also flower market is close by.

I stayed at that hotel about 5-6 years ago and have fond memories. There’s a tram on the next street over that takes you to central Amsterdam. It’s s a nice ride, lots of canals and green space..and bicycles!! Cheese shops too!  Enjoy!

Ine...gave you some great information above. We paid a bit more for our taxi (from the taxi stand) due to some road construction shut down during our time frame there from AMS to the Banks Mansion. Lot's of great restaurant options near by walking distance. Enjoy this hotel and all their amenities...especially the wonderful breakfast.

Do you have any specific restaurant suggestions?  We stayed there pre-COVID so I am sure some things have changed.

Sorry nothing specific...there was one street area that was just lined up on both sides with so many options with outdoor seating and posted menu's. We just chose at random.
