Ken, I didn't get the email and from what I am seeing on Cruise Critic it doesn't say that it is only for new bookings.  Is that anywhere on the email?

How do we know what sailings?

There is a link in the email.   Several of our sailings are not listed.  Our January cruise is but the added OBC is for new bookings only.

Our CVP confirmed it is select sailings only and our 2 cruises in November aren’t included. Not disappointed as we’ve got great perks and OBC already. We didn’t expect anything else at this point.

Going forward, I would be more likely to book a cruise that is giving me double MOBC.  That way I wouldn't feel like I am missing out on my SOBC. LOL!  I didn't get the email, so I appreciate the linked post above.  Playing around with the link, I see that one of my current bookings is one of those offering the double MOBC.  I suppose they want me to call to get that applied.  If so, I am not bothering b/c I already have both SOBC and MOBC applied, so there is little point to go through the hassle.  They would likely take away the SOBC.

In related news, I was looking at various offerings via that link, and found a 14 day, as a solo, for $1800/something, and there seems to be a glitch in regards to the MOBC.  In the little OBC box, it shows $100 OBC, $500 MOBC, AND another $250 MOBC.   So basically I could book this cruise, w/o Princess Plus, and get $850 OBC.   So. Very. Tempted.  LOL!

We just tested the waters and refared our July 2024 M1 booking on the Sky when it dropped in price today by about $1600 pp! We lost both the SOBC, as we both get the MOBC, as well as the OBC perk that came with the original booking.

BTW I almost fell off my chair when I saw the huge price drop on our 14-day cruise! 😂

Thanks for sharing…congratulations on such a big decrease in your cruise fare! 🤑

Losing the $250 SOBC and the amount of your booking OBC for the $1,600 fare reduction works. 😊

Australian cruiser here. They are very strict about not applying for shareholder credit more than 90 days beforehand. In fact I applied at 89 days and was told it was too early and reapply in less than 90 days!

I was unaware of the policy change in regard to combinable OBCs, and so was refused SOBC as MOBC had already been applied.

The cruise was paid in full in May.

I am a bit narky that others have been able to have the credit applied waaay in the future, but because we have to wait till under 90 days to apply, it is "too bad, so sad".

Has anyone that lost some of their SOBC after June 29th gotten hold of the "Call Center" to try and get it back? My SOBC disappeared from my 3 day this October, but my other 4 cruises are fine. Just wondering if it's worth the hassle.

I’m also a little narky that others don’t have a problem and got it applied way in the future.  I tried to send mine in early also.   I’m in the US and sent mine in for my husband who is also the one with military OBC and never heard back but didn’t think it was a problem until I just read all these posts and now I guess it’s too late. My DH also never got any correspondence about the change. I would not have known if I had not read it here.  I just wish I’d seen it sooner. Oh well

I wonder how many veterans will sell their stock now?  Oh, I forgot, the stock is worthless at this time.

Not totally--I bought at 9, today it is 17 1/2.

I have a VERY long way to go before I break even with my first set of 100 stocks.  Second set, I'm good.  Together...I am still losing money every day.

Granted, I have made up some of the "loss" with ShareHolder OBC.  Not complaining.  Will hold on to the stocks until I no longer cruise.

We submitted a request to SBPCL on Friday to have my wife's shareholders benefits added to our 17 November 2024 Panama Canal cruise. I already have military OBC so we were waiting to see what happens.

This morning, I checked the booking and low and behold, we now have Shareholders OBC for her and Military OBC for me.

Hope this clears things up a bit

That is how it has worked  for us.  Hubby gets the shareholder and I get the military obc.  When we pay for excursions before the cruise, it pulled from both obc. So I always make sure to submit his shareholder paperwork as soon as I booked.

My DW just made a very good point. What’s the purpose of the June 29 date if PCL is not going to allow previously authorized MOBC and SOBC postings to remain on existing bookings? Our guess from over here in the peanut gallery is PCL will allow them to be grandfathered.

If this is true, I wonder if MBOC posted to cruises booked before 6/29 will continue to be refundable.

We boarded the Diamond on July 10 and our MOBC was marked as refundable on our shipboard account.

The update said that effective on 6/29 the policy would change for all voyages departing AFTER 9/12…so I’ll still have to wait for a definitive answer for a couple more months.
Enjoy your cruise!
