I ordered chicken strips and fries while watching a movie/doing laundry. Arrived at least as hot as if I had ordered the same thing at a fast food drive up window. My wife didn't want her Club Sandwich delivered hot...

That's novel. Eating lunch in the laundromat. 😄

Yeah, right. We tend to watch a movie in the cabin while doing the laundry. 🙄

I use my phone to watch movies. The ones on the ship are years old and they have no plan on updating them anytime soon from what I've seen.

Since we never eat in the cabin and don't purchase the drink package, why spend $14.95 for delivery? I prefer to get our of my seat & go to the DR or buffet for my meals instead of trying to balance a plate while sitting in a lounge chair. Anyway, the items for delivery are limited to only certain items the last time we sailed.

We don't eat in our cabin often and don't buy the packages either. I also can't see spending $14.95 on this. Plus, if we order food in, then I won't be able to get just a tiny spoon of this and a tiny piece of that like I do in the buffet. Of course the drawback to that is that all those tiny spoonfuls and pieces add up to way more food than I should be eating anyhow!

They have movies from 2022 and  2023 releases. Not sure what you're referring to. Princess gets them a few months after they release at the movie theater.  I believe there was a previous thread about this, where the same comment was made. I gave many examples of the new movies Princess shows.

That is the same as Holland America.

I believe you posted those new movies at that time and they were fairly current at the time.

I still prefer to choose many others they don't offer.

We paid for one of us to have access to OceanNow but I don’t think I’d do it again unless to food options increased. Seriously there wasn’t much at all. Cookies were 4.99 I think, so much was charged for on top of the 14.99 and there wasn’t much to choose from. Maybe that is normal or maybe just particularly poor selection on the cruise I was on.

Drinks didn’t take too long to arrive, but for soft drinks and Mocktails not all drinks were available to order even though I knew the bar of cafe I was nearest to offered them. No Chai Tea, only half the Mocktails, no mint hot choc and more missing.

Then the final straw was when I ordered a choco banana for my daughter she got a dirty banana instead. Rum.
She’s ten!

that wouldn’t have been fun for her if she drank the whole thing. Luckily although they looked the same she figured something was different & we got it changed. Very apologetic once I showed proof of what I actually ordered.

It never fails to amaze me that people would rather wait in their cabin for semi warm food to get delivered  rather than get food from outlets on board like Slive, Salty Dog Grill, IC or buffet

I wait in the piazza for items on the app not available at Slice, Salty Dog Grill, IC or buffet. Like Key Lime, good pizza (Slice is soggy & Alfredos is $15+ gratuities but I'll do it), or the Greek salad. Yes they have the components for it on the buffet but the only time I made one it required jumping between 3 areas to get everything which seemed to be irritating to others. Or just order on the app

I have been reading the same.  In fact, I have the impression that when they introduced the fee for using ON, they also removed a lot of items.  WTH?!  With a limited menu and also not having all bar drinks, I don't see using it versus fetch my own.  IMO, PCL should have put everything in ON App and then the fee makes some sense.

On another thread someone posted a pic of their phone showing that if you clicked to use Ocean Now in the app it warned you of the $15 fee and you had to hit accept.  So if you don't use that then you will not be charged.  Both charges only happen if you don't have one of the newer packages that includes it.  Some have reported only 1 in their party activating the app and ordering all the food to their room as delivery is free to the room via the ocean now....hope i made that make sense.

I think that may have been me that mentioned it and you reported it accurately.  Only I use the app and my DH never does.  He rarely even has his phone with him.
We never order room service via the phone, so the $5 fee never were charged.  The options on the app are just as good for us, if not better.  We had one of the old plus packages and so just paid the one time access fee of $14.99 and it covered food delivery service all over the ship, including our stateroom.

We rarely turn on the TV while we are on a cruise but did notice that the movies being shown on MUTS were all ones I haven’t seen before.  I think many of them were newer,  as I recall, once shown on MUTS, they are then available in your stateroom on your TV under the On Demand feature.

If you don't watch all the current movies that come out on DVD then you'll be quite happy with the ones they present to you on the ship.

We have AK cruise starting this wknd, and I Still Don't understand if we will be charged

if we use the TV to order Room service?

I don't use the phone to order, and rarely use the App.

If I want delivery to the room, the TV seems easier, and more variety than ordering on the app, IMO.

(We have Plus pkg thru casino, so I don't know if thats considered New or Old Plus)

I'm finally getting one over on the suits and bean counters.  The activation charge for Ocean Now is per "voyage".  I have a WC booked as one voyage.  Ha.  I'll gladly pay the fee at the start of the voyage since it will be good for 111 days.

On the downside, if I were to upgrade to Plus to avoid the ON activation fee I would only get two specialty dinings for the 111 day voyage.

It's all per voyage.

Ordering on the TV is the same as ordering on the app. It is not considered "Room Service" for the purpose of the $5 fee. It is, however, using Ocean Now which incurs the one time per voyage fee of $14.99 if you don't have the Plus or Premier plan.

I’m hearing that many of the previously available items that have been complimentary/included on the OceanNow app since its introduction are no longer available. At least on a complimentary/included basis.

I’m thinking of things like chocolate cake, banana pudding, key lime cups, etc.

Anyone have any recent experience on this?

I just looked.  Chocolate cake is complimentary, along with key Lime pie, and Cheesecake.  The other item available at an additional charge are Jumbo Chocolate cookies @$4.99, SMIZE Ice creams @ $6.00 each,  Assorted flavors.
