1.5 hours to get to manahattan. thats nuts! i guess with traffic it will take that long. at least you will get a view of the statue

for yummy food i highly recommend juniors bakery for not only cheesecake but tons of great sandwiches and goulash too! ive driven 2 hours just to have dinner there.

1515 Broadway @, W 45th St, New York, NY 10036

hint if anyone goes to juniors. go on yelp and on their site they have a waiting list so by the time you get there your wait will be over 🙂   both indoor and outdoor eating there as well

We've never had to wait for a table.  Tables are close together and there are a lot of them.

Dinner tonight was at a place called Gallo’s Seafood and Burger Bar.

Here’s the menu from the webpage because i failed to snap a picture at the restaurant.

And this was my pan seated Salmon.

We made it to the Embassy Suites.  I did not know this was a Hilton.  I’m on the top floor with these views.

The room is nice.  Its a suite 😅.

I got this through Trinity Reservations.  For the price i’m paying, which includes room, parking and car service to and from port, its less than parking for 14 days at the port.

But now, I’m tired.  Tomorrow is cruise day!

This is an auspicious start to our vacation.  I’m in bed, wife is ion the shower.  She’s going “i love this shower”.  The. i hear this crash and then she goes “i ****** hate this shower”. Apparently she stubbed her toe on the lip of the shower hard enough to draw blood and is limping a little.  Hopefully she’ll be okay.

Meanwhile, a little bit later, I realize i’m hungry but could not find my car keys.  There’s a reason i like late dining.  So I’m not hungry like this in the middle of the night, but unlike where i live, there are apparently lots of late night dining options on a Wednesday night at 2am.  I finally find my keys and head out.  As I exit the building, i miss my step off a curb and boom, down I go.  Scraped myself up a bit.  Still, undeterred, I reach my destination.

Good Morning from Newark, NJ.

IMG_8303.thumb.jpeg.51cf91d4aaa7af69e2e4a0b4655d238e.jpeg

I didn’t sleep well last night.  Went to be around 3:30am.  The room woke me up at 9am because unlike my room at home, the curtains do nothing to block out the morning sun.

But that just means I have plenty of time for my final run.

Last night, i missed my turn somewhere and waze detoured me through the airport and what felt like circles to get back to my hotel.  Its like a maze around the airport. This mall is across the street from the Embassy Suites.  I was able to get here with no GPS, but Newark was determined to swallow me up.

IMG_8304.thumb.jpeg.55b2ebbdf50d97e5d25181cf2dc2fc03.jpeg

I could not drive straight across to the mall.  I had to turn right away from the mall and towards the turnpike.  I swear the turnpike has a gravitational pull as last night, it kept trying to pull me on.

Well, easily found Starbucks.

IMG_8305.thumb.jpeg.3396645cd0e7ea109bc740bc744cc8b7.jpeg

And now I have coffee for the cruise as well as now.

IMG_8306.thumb.jpeg.1c4428f546b7cce2e244ab172d59d77f.jpeg

The coffee is *shudder* grounded.  I don’t have a manual grinder and will not risk taking one onboard, which if i was sure i could, I would bring with me.

My wife thinks i’m nuts, but she enjoys the results.  Good coffee for her.

My trunk is totally filled and then some.  As we were packing, our little boy was not happy.

We made it up to Philly and are having dinner.

More pics to come.

"But Mom and Dad, I do not take up that much room......."

Not record breaking but still impressive boarding time.   door to ship.

And lunch and windjammer.  We’re early enough that seating is not a problem but its filling up fast.

Following.  Hope there are no more stumbles and you are on your way to a great cruise.

You jinxed me.  As i was looking for a seat,

lady bumped into me with a cup of hot tea.  Spilled on my arm.  Kinda painful, but no scars!

These things come in threes and that's number three. You should be good to go from now on! 😂
