So today, we decided to visit the Intrepid.  I personally think the Yorktown in Charleston, SC is better, but its still an amazing place.

Its the Enterprise!!!  I actually saw this when it was in DC.  Also, when flying out for our honeymoon, she was at Dulles when we flew out in preparation to fly here i think.

Definitely too late now, but San Gennaro's Feast down in Little Italy started yesterday and runs through Sunday.  It's a great time with great food!

Had i known about it before i bought tickets for Intrepid, it would have been a contender.

We stayed at the Wyndham TRYP and had a superb tapas dinner in Ferry Street, which is only 10 mins walk away.
Mompou restaurant- highly recommended!

WTH! They charge 4.94 for a transaction fee? What’s that for, someone ringing up the check? 🙄

Transaction fee is for using a credit card. Some places pass that fee o. To the customer. Note on the check where it says cash price vs credit price.

We were on the 2 cruises before you. We received that on the cruise right before yours, but not the first one. We were told because of the high number of D and up. The D lounge is very small and there was always a line for the coffee. We would get coffee and then go the the Vortex for the Pinnacles where it wasn’t as crowded.

Never visited this Air, Sea, and Space museum....looks interesting.

Until we moved 10 miles farther south, we lived 5 miles from this location (Udvar-Hazy) near Dulles Airport.  Just for an FYI, like all Smithsonian museums, admittance is free, but parking costs $15 per vehicle.  Besides the actual museum which is full of all kinds of airplanes including the Enola Gay, there is a mock up of the death star used in filming for Star Wars.  There is also a tower you can watch planes take off and land.   There are uniforms, weapons, planes, etc,  The original space shuttle that was there was moved several years back and replaced with the current one. I have pictures taken from my back yard of the original one leaving Dulles on the back of the 747. I can never remember which shuttle is where.

Person was winched off. The helicopter 🚁 flew around us a few times. Now we are back on course.

Oh my!  Been there and done that, not having to be winched off because of illness but due to intended evacuation of all the passengers. As it turned out, only 450 or so were evac'd by helicopter. Hope the person will be ok.

BTW...happened to notice your fall trips on the Jewel. Now that so many of these northern itineraries are going out of Boston or Quebec, doing B2B (so as to return to Cape Liberty) looks like a nice option, except that for me 3 weeks starts to get a bit too long. This (Greenland) cruise is already moved to roundtrip Boston for next year.

Enterprise was at Udvar-Hazy and was replaced by the actually space-flown Discovery, which is when E was sent on to the Intrepid museum.

I meant to post this last night, but internet crapped out in my room.

Coming out of Manhattan is interesting.

I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had not gone to see Cirque du Soleil last week for our anniversary.  So seeing this show was like…meh after that show still fresh in my head.

I finally made it to the MDR for dinner.

Menu

These are “bay scallop” not escargot.  They were ok, not the same even though its the same setup.

I thought this was Beef Carpaccio at first.  Its not.  Vitello Tonnato.

Beef Tenderloin

And “Pecan Pie”.  This wasn’t that good.

So the end of Day 2.

You’re right.  The free coffee is only good for Cappuccino, Latte or Americano
