du4mch Posted November 12, 2023 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2023 So, I was looking at the diamond perks. shows 4 complimentary daily drinks. I like to have a few beers in the course of the day. Am I correct to assume I can have 4 free beers a day as long as there under $14? if so, can I get them at any bar? Thanks
Sunshine3601 Posted November 12, 2023 #2 Share Posted November 12, 2023 Yes, you can have 4 beers or 4 cocktails of your choice at any bar at any time of day. Just let bartender or server know you want to use your voucher(s).
LXA350 Posted November 12, 2023 #3 Share Posted November 12, 2023 Yes, that's correct with very few exceptions such as Bionic bar for instance. Depending on your drinking habits you can consier if it's worth to use all vouchers for a beer as some drinks are more expensive than a beer. Keep in mind you don't have to use the vouchers before buying a drink, you just need to tell the person serving you not to apply the voucher. SplashOfWater Posted November 12, 2023 #4 Share Posted November 12, 2023 The bartender will swipe your SeaPass card and print out a slip with the total price of $0.00. At the bottom of the slip it will show how many of your voucher drinks have been used: 1 of 4, 2 of 4, etc.

On Wonder in June I never got a single receipt for a voucher drink. On Allure last month I got them maybe 50-75% if the time. cruiseguy1016 Posted November 12, 2023 #7 Share Posted November 12, 2023 And, not trying to start a tipping argument here but, you should tip the bartender for the free drink. There is no gratuity added to the free drink like it is automatically added to a paid for drink.
LuCruise Posted November 12, 2023 #8 Share Posted November 12, 2023 Not OP but have a related question. Only one of our kids is Diamond while the other isn't (DH and I became Diamond but our older one already turned 18). Can the one that is Diamond get two drinks at once (non-alcoholic of course)? My understandable is that unlike the drink package, the Diamond drinks are shareable but want to be sure.

I rarely use all my vouchers, and regularly use them to purchase a drink for someone else. Nobody even blinks an eye.
bigque Posted November 12, 2023 #10 Share Posted November 12, 2023 Another question??? I believe you can (you and spouse) share vouchers unlike the deluxe package… correct?? Spouse Dow not drink so I can use hers in addition to mine???

Her vouchers could also be used for non-alcoholic drinks….there might be something your wife might enjoy (mocktails/virgin drinks, fresh squeezed OJ, soda, etc) if you are not using all eight vouchers on more expensive alcoholic drinks. Thanks! It is going to work out better to get her the Refreshment Package and use the 8 vouchers for alcoholic drinks.

That is exactly why the bartender should give you a paper receipt, otherwise he has no chance of getting a tip. Unlike others I never carry any cash around the ship. The ship is treated as cash less except when we order room service, there we do hand out cash for tips since they don't have paper receipts. I always tip in cash (usually $1 a drink), so the lack of a receipt is irrelevant to me. Additionally, I spend a LOT of time sitting at bars during a cruise (some may say that is not a good thing but that is another topic). On every cruise at every bar I see lots of people tipping in cash. By the time people reach Diamond, most of them know tipping in cash is preferred by the majority of bartenders. Just saying more likely to get MORE tips if they give out paper receipts. Most people don't carry cash around the ship. Also paper receipts are a better way of keeping track how many drinks you have left. Just be consistent Royal. I agree giving out paper receipts is a good way to potentially get more tips. We must hang out in different areas of the ship. I spend a significant amount of time at bars and in the casino. The majority of people in these areas always have cash on them and tend to tip with cash. However, I assume the majority of people on a ship don’t spend much time in the casino or hanging out at bars. Like you said, a lot of these passengers probably don’t carry cash with them. So then when he brings the drink to you and doesn't have the paper receipt you have to have him go back to the register and then print it out after he has all ready been to the register once we he rung up your drink. Wasted time on his part and from getting other passengers their drinks faster.....Just seems like a wasted step. 1. Ring up drink, print receipt, give to customer with their drink. I'm pretty sure a 100% Royal's management is telling all their Bartenders to print our receipts for ever customer.
