My wish list for Princess

The MDR at dinner is so loud and chaotic.

It is not loud or chaotic in the Reserve Collection section of the dining room.  It is actually quite the opposite.  We really enjoy dinner and the changing menus in this section, especially on our long voyages.

You are a great friend of mine but I can’t see doing a long cruise with only doing dinner in specialty venues where the menu never changes. Again each to their own

Totally agree, Michael.  For longer voyages I would definitely do a mix of both dining venues.  Right now we’re unable to cruise longer than 12 to 14 days, so it works out fine.  I’m a very light eater, so honestly the food is not that important, but I do enjoy a quieter more romantic atmosphere.  That’s just me.

Isn’t it wonderful that there is something for everyone!  Thank goodness for you lovely people who enjoy the MDR because otherwise we’d never get a reservation in the other restaurants.

You know us we hardly ever do cruises less than 14-21 days. We also prefer the Grand class ships so that means just Crown Grill and Sabatini’s. On a 16 day cruise we may eat in the 3-4 times depending on MDR menus otherwise we are in Reserve Dining area

And, wherever we choose to dine you and I get to enjoy our wine and after dinner cocktails!  And, pre dinner cocktails. And, a lovely nightcap.  Love the Plus package!

It's also not loud or chaotic in the MDR if you eat late like we do. Sometimes the staff are kind of "over it" after dealing with the 5-6pm rush, but it's definitely quieter with a bit more elbow room.

And for us late morning cocktails on sea days and drinks in the casino

Yes!  Mimosas for breakfast are the best.

I do a Captain Morgan and OJ pre lunch and my wife likes a Prosecco or 2

I’ve also had really good luck requesting a quiet table in a back corner of the MDR. Having a quiet table in a corner by the window is a very different experience than sitting along the main aisle near the entrance to the dining room.

Nooooo! I love Bravo! I prefer it to Encore. It hasn't been on many of the Australian cruises for ages so I was delighted to see it on Diamond last November.

On our recent Australia/New Zealand cruises we were horrified to find they were still running British Invasion and Stardust. Really??? Those have to be the two oldest shows in the Princess repertoire. It was laughable that the CD was promoting Grand Princess as "the only place you wil get to see these shows!" No kidding. The other ships have newer productions.

Yes, many people want the return of the old fixed dining options as options. With three dining rooms, they used to have one with fixed early and late, one with fixed early followed by anytime, and one with anytime. The one with fixed early followed by anytime was similar to what they have now with a lot of reservations when they open, but it was more efficient. They don't even have to have an entire restaurant with fixed dining. I notice they are going back to offering a fixed option on their newest ships.

I would not want to travel with a large family group with the current DMW. It was definitely much better with fixed dining. I will be taking a family Alaska cruise this fall with five couples. We will be eating in Reserve Collection, so we should not have a problem eating together whenever we want. Pre-COVID, we did a group with four couples eating in Club Class and it was great. But I don't think the large group experience would be that great anymore if you're not in Reserve Collection.

Thanks.  We still do family group cruises.  Under the current system we are able to reserve a table(s) and eat together.   It was just much easier under the old fixed dining.  Especially for one person in our group with mobility issues because under the old fixed dining, there was no waiting in line.  We would just go to the table.  Under the new system, even with a specific reserved time for our group, a wait is always involved.

I would like to see all cabins equipped with both USB-A and USB-C ports near the bedside.

2024 and they still don't have USB ports for charging? Other lines literally have charging stations in the room. Do they have night lights in the bathrooms yet. I haven't sailed Princess since 2013. I strayed to Celebrity and Royal Caribbean and never went back.

Shockingly, it is an older demographic that is on cruises. I know, this is not the news the corporations like.

This does open the door to opportunities in a competitive world.

Knees and hips get painful with time. Seating surface heights need to be raised.  Occupational therapists help with this issue.

Hearing against a background of conversations or music becomes more difficult. Presbycusis is the word for it.  Worth looking up in Wikipedia.com. Sound engineers can have a crack at this, so that the large number of hearing impaired folks can enjoy socializing.

thanks!

I have no idea what this has to do with the thread and I am in my 70’s

Add a coffee machine (keurige) in the full suites

I'd rather have a Nespresso machine, and have them in mini-suites as well like Cunard does.

I wouldn't exactly call much of the limited and poor quality wine offered under the Plus package enjoyable. But at least you get 25% off buying better wines by the bottle.

British Invasion was often standing room only pre-pandemic. It was very popular including with the crew. I've seen variations of this on other cruise lines, including on Regent Seven Seas Explorer last November, and they weren't a patch on the Princess version. Great music and some great humour as well.

This is the new 220v / USB ports that they have installed on Grand.

Coral has something similar but with a Australian socket and two standard USB ports  I expect they will be changed over to the above style once Coral leaves Australia after our world cruise.

When they do install night lights in cabins I wish they'd make them optional. I hate being forced to endure lights brighter than I like in the middle of the night. The light emitted by my Kindle on a relatively low setting is all I need to see my way around the cabin at night.

British Invasion is still my all time favorite Princess Show. Haven’t seen it in a long while now and would be happy to see it on an upcoming cruise. That being said, I still feel that Princess needs to elevate their production shows.
