My wish list for Princess

Coral has something similar but with a Australian socket and two standard USB ports  I expect they will be changed over to the above style once Coral leaves Australia after our world cruise.

That's on my Princess wish list. 😄

I wouldn't exactly call much of the limited and poor quality wine offered under the Plus package enjoyable. But at least you get 25% off buying better wines by the bottle.

I think you cruise in the wrong ships on the Crown over the last 4 months they have had an excellent old vine Zin in Vines for  guess what $15. You need to get around more

This is the new 220v / USB ports that they have installed on Grand.

When they do install night lights in cabins I wish they'd make them optional. I hate being forced to endure lights brighter than I like in the middle of the night. The light emitted by my Kindle on a relatively low setting is all I need to see my way around the cabin at night.

We must be the only people in existence who don't really have a problem with the automagic lights. Yes, the ones under the nightstands are annoying but we just drop the bolster in front of them and the problem is solved. A small piece of painter's tape works well also if you have some. The ones in the closet area don't cause us undue problems. I have more of an issue with the dang things turning off when I'm trying to get into the safe for something. Yes, I prefer to be able to simply use a switch but it's not an earth shaking issue.

2024 and they still don't have USB ports for charging? Other lines literally have charging stations in the room. Do they have night lights in the bathrooms yet. I haven't sailed Princess since 2013. I strayed to Celebrity and Royal Caribbean and never went back.

Grand Princess, the oldest ship in the fleet, has USB A ports on the bedside lamps.

Is that so?

So are they now serving the MDR menus in Vines? I prefer to drink wine with my meals and the wines available on the MDR Plus wines list are very basic. In the Australian region where I mostly cruise the selection is very limited, about 30 years behind current wine trends, and bottom of the range ie wines that are usually bought in 4 litre casks (boxes). The three Plus wines we tried on a recent Japan cruise were equally poor quality.

I'm late to the party, but here is my wish list.  (If you read my recent Live from our New Zealand cruise, some of these will come as no surprise.)

* Lower the volume of everything on the ship to half of what it currently is, especially events in the Piazza.

* Better still, move the raucous Piazza events to the Vista Lounge.

* Offer child-free cruises. I'd definitely pay more for those.

* Make bars off limits to children--and empower the crew to enforce it.

* Make Princess Live (and while I'm at it, most venues aside from the Piazza) off limits to children after 10:00 p.m.  (Are you sensing a theme?)

* Offer two levels of Plus and Premium:  the current one with 15 drinks, and a cheaper version with, say, seven drinks per day.

* Call formal nights something else to be more inclusive (i.e., no expectation of tuxedoes and ball gowns).

* On the other hand, enforce bare minimum dress standards in the MDR. I know that will be controversial, but my expectations are super-low. I'm talking about no workout clothes, bare feet or flip-flops, torn t-shirts, etc. Yes, I've seen all of those in the MDR. And again, empower crew members to enforce it.

Disagree if you must, but hey--it's my wish list!

The nightlight issue is crazy. Why a blindingly bright automatic overhead light outside the bathroom seemed like a good idea is beyond me. A simple nightlight in the bathroom would be much more helpful

I'd rather have a Nespresso machine, and have them in mini-suites as well like Cunard does.

Not the I'm ever going to be in a suite, but Keurig is to Nespresso as a Wet 'n' Wild is to Universal Studios.

You are not.  I was very surprised when I saw so many complaints about them, because they have never bothered me.

Had a penthouse on the Emerald last Feb.

The chaise loungers on the balcony were wood with no cushions. Very hard. Room steward said cushions were not available

We put in a suggestion to the Hotel Manager to change to fabric loungers that were visible on balcony verandas seen on decks below ours

It's a sad state of affairs when Princess needs to ban kids from bars and venues after 10:00pm. Do these children not have parents?

The fuss is.... some people find them overly bright and irritating.  I 'dealt' with them by taping over the sensor on the light near the bathroom door and blocking the side table light with a pool towel.

So get what you like and just pay the small difference plus gratuity.  Just. a couple of dollars.  Or, move up to the Premier package if Plus doesn’t work for you.  Plus works for us and most people.  We had a ton of FCC for our next cruise, so moved up to Premier.

Just get a double pour at Vines and carry it in to dinner. The wines at Vines are not available in the MDR or anywhere else and many are $15-$18

My wish list is short……no smoking anywhere indoors on the ships! Move all smoking to designated areas that are outside on the open decks.

We just went on our first Celebrity cruise and booked another before we got off the ship. We love that their ships only allow smoking outside. If Princess continues to allow smoking in their casinos, which of course then permeates the air outside the casino, I can see our dollars and loyalty moving over to Celebrity.

I drink mostly Prosecco and Whispering Angel.  Not a wine connoisseur by any means.  Would never bother buying a bottle of “better” wine because I just don’t care.  My DH only drinks wine at dinner and he’s not fussy, either.  He prefers Scotch or Whiskey.

Also there are many wines by the bottle which I enjoy that are not available by the glass. For dinner it is nice to get the discount on a bottle of something we really like and if we don’t finish it they will hold it for us

You, my friend, have a much more sophisticated palate than I when it comes to wine.  In your case, I would most definitely buy the bottle and enjoy what you like.  I’ve been known to drink wine out of a jug (my university days with limited funds).  When people ask what kind of wine I prefer I say pink.

Heck in college days it was jugs of Galli or Annie Green Springs that both complemented the pot
