Recommended Posts

I need 3 more sea days to turn platinum.  I have heard, I will turn platinum, when I board ship.  I register online on 8 August, will I be notied as platinum then or have to wait to board ship.  Thank you

If you are turning platinum during your next cruise you will see it reflected on your boarding pass once you check in.  Also, your luggage tags will also show your new level.  Once on the ship your S & S cards will be platinum (just in case they make a mistake and give you gold cards just go to guest services (the VIP line)  and exchange them.  I guess that happens every once in a while.

Members are eligible for a higher tier level on the next cruise following completion of necessary cruises and/or cruise days. Land portion of cruisetour does not apply. Only cruises taken on Princess® and P&O Australia count toward the Princess Captain’s Circle Program. P&O UK cruises are no longer eligible.

But this is the Carnival Cruise line forum. Carnival does change your status if it changes during your cruise.

Sorry, I didn't realize I got into a  Carnival discussion. I'm pretty new to cruise critic and I thought everything I was following was Princess. I've only done  couple short carnival cruises so I wouldn't know much about their process.

Yes, you will be able to complete your online check-in early. Your boarding passes and luggage tags will say Platinum. and you will be able to board with plats.

This is how it works.  As you step on to the ship the Platium Fairy comes down from the atrium and taps you with the Platium Magic Wand. At that second you will be part of the Platium Club.  Enjoy your free gift and pin from the Pixel Desk, $25 casino money, free 3 bags of Laundry.  If your cruise is 5 days or more you can call and order from Room Service a free Chocolate Delight and an invitation to the Diamond & Platium Return Cruiser Party (you can bring a non-D&P cruisers as your guest).  Congratulations on reaching this level.  On our next cruise we turn Diamond and we are looking forward to seeing the Diamond Fairy!

Don't get your hopes up. The Diamond Fairy is a short fat guy wearing a pink tutu holding a wand that is held together with duct tape! 😄
