He went downhill last night and struggled to get up the stairs this morning. Tux went up with him. Just waiting for the vet office to open. He definitely lived up to his name over the years. Blessings and prayers to all on our journey. Will be thinking of Houdini Crossing the Rainbow Bridge today. 22

smitty34877 Posted May 11 #30 Share Posted May 11 Bon Voyage to @StLouisCruisers. Sandi and Dennis. @MISTER 67, George and DW and @Niagarawine!! @marshhawk, Annie, I hope you are a little better today. Dental work can be so painful. @1ANGELCAT! I am thinking of you today and sending hugs. It is always hard to say goodbye. i used foam rollers a lot when I was working. I am glad root canals save teeth and have had RA since I turned 30. The treatments for it have vastly improved and save joints. Cobb salad is a favorite, and I have not been to Thailand. I found George Carlin very funny and saw him live once. DD DH laughed so much he cried. They had a similar sense of humor . My DB and DSIl came down yesterday to stay for two nights and help the family. They did the grocery shopping and kept Tana company while I returned to bed. We needed to add a card table to our dining table to accommodate everyone. We had a good laugh about sitting at the kids table in our seventies. We had vegetarian chili for dinner that I didn’t have to cook. Enjoy the day everyone. 28

dfish Posted May 11 #35 Share Posted May 11 Good morning, everyone! We were blessed with a great display from the northern lights last night. If you looked through your phone camera, you could see them even better as the camera filters really picked up the colors. My photos aren't so wonderful, but what I saw was. There was a great display right out in our back yard. Today I am working on getting my quilt ready for the quilter. I was supposed to get it in this week, but it will have to be next week. Sue is waiting to hear if River's soccer game is rained out. The maps show rain until mid afternoon where they play. @1ANGELCAT I am sorry Houdini took a turn for the worse. May his trip across the rainbow bridge be peaceful. @StLouisCruisers Sandi, I hope you and Dennis have a great time on your cruise! @Niagarawine Enjoy that cruise! @MISTER 67 Bon Voyage! Drive safely! @marshhawk I hope your mouth is feeling better after the oral surgery yesterday. I love Cobb salad. This one looks like it would more than satisfy me! They recommend making your own light ranch dressing. https://litecravings.com/skinny-cobb-salad/ Here's a recipe for the ranch dressing. https://litecravings.com/the-best-light-ranch-dressing/ This Cobb salad uses a blue cheese vinaigrette. That sounds pretty good! https://www.healthyseasonalrecipes.com/healthy-cobb-salad/ This recipe uses a lemon vinaigrette. All three sound delicious to me! https://www.wellplated.com/cobb-salad/ Wishing you all a wonderful day! 16
Quartzsite Cruiser Posted May 11 #36 Share Posted May 11 Good morning from a sunny central Texas where it is 63F. Unfortunately, the clouds will return this morning, and we'll reach a high of 78F. This morning, I'll make a quick run to the store since they are having a three day sale, and it's supposed to start raining tonight and most of tomorrow. I will also need to mow the yard this afternoon, even though it is sooner than I normally would. Between the rain tomorrow and appointments Monday and Tuesday, I couldn't get to it until Wednesday. By then, the grass would be really tall. I can appreciate foam rolling day and the results a root canal can provide, but not the process. We should all be aware of the diseases included in today's awareness day. A funny quote by a funny man. I would love a Cobb salad if someone made it for me. We'll pass on the drink, but would try the wine. We have been to Phuket once and enjoyed our day there. Pictures will follow shortly. @grapau27 Graham, thanks for the information on foam rolling. @MISTER 67 Safe travels to Port Everglades, George. @StLouisCruisers Sandi, I'm glad you have a ride to the ship. @puppycanducruise Melanie, I'm glad you saw a hint of the northern lights through the clouds. @1ANGELCAT I'm very sorry that Houdini will be crossing the Rainbow Bridge today. He lived a long life with his loving humans. @smitty34877 Terry, I'm happy your DB and DSIL came down to help you, and that you got some much needed rest. @dfish Debbie, I'm glad you had a good display of the Northern Lights. They are amazing, and we saw them about 28 years ago in Alaska. @marshhawk Annie, I hope you are doing better today with less pain. @kazu Jacqui, I hope you are feeling better and your foot is healing. Rare Denise T Posted May 11 #37 Share Posted May 11 Happy Saturday. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet reports. Some sun expected today. Hope to get outside and do some work. Taking our cat Sheldon to the vet for shots. That should be fun. My roses are starting to bloom which is amazing as I tend to neglect them. I love gardening but I am not so good at it. Bon voyage to @Niagarawine, @MISTER 67, and @StLouisCruisers. Thinking of all on the care list. Celebrating with all who are celebrating. Have a safe and healthy day. 22

Quartzsite Cruiser Posted May 11 #40 Share Posted May 11 We visited Phuket on March 7, 2000, on P&O Oriana's world cruise. We hired a driver to show us the island, and had a very good day. The beach when we tendered ashore early that morning. Our first shopping opportunity Our driver took us to the Monkey School where we saw a demonstration of what the monkeys learn. Mainly, they teach them to climb the very tall palm trees and to throw the coconuts down. They also teach them some tricks, and even got one person from the audience to help, and I was the lucky one. The trainer tied my hands and had the monkey untie me. The driver asked if we wanted to ride an elephant, but we declined, and headed into the town of Phuket, including a stop at a very fancy jewelry store. After our tour, we returned to the beach and had a couple of cold beers on the patio of a nice hotel. This was the beach and hotel that were destroyed by the December 26, 2004, tsunami. Phuket as we sailed later that afternoon. Lenda 18

Root Canal Appreciation Day, no way. George Carlin was a funny guy though he could be pretty vulgar. The Cobb Salad is my favorite salad. We’re leaving in 90 minutes for our drive over to Port Everglades for our cruise on the Enchanted Princess. Have a great day and stay well. Enjoy your cruise!
