Not good, we're in a RS and no escort to board the ship. found Michaels and were told it is now open to all suites. No seats in Michaels club, the place is packed, not a great start. They increased staff levels, but it's not accommodating to all the guests jammed in there.

It wasn't supposed to start until Dec 16. They started it early, apparently. It certainly makes me rethink any higher end suites in the future, at least on the reflection. They used to greet you by name when you walked in, that won't be possible anymore on the reflection with 100 plus suites.

I know many on staff who believe that adding Sky Suites was a mistake. The M Class ships can probably handle it, but the S Class, especially Reflection might experience problems. I know at least on MC Concierge who is looking for a different position. I'll be boarding Silhouette tomorrow so I'll see for myself the impact of the change.

Keep us posted on how things go. Didn't the official Celebrity poster say they were adding additional concierge staff to Michaels on Reflection? Hope things improve for you.

I guess if there's any time during a cruise when such a lounge is likely to be super-crowded, it is on embarkation day the hour before rooms are available.

I'm not surprised to see Michaels introduced for Sky Suites now as a shakedown to work out the issues on these lower-priced pre-Christmas cruises.

It would not be as smart in my humble opinion for Celebrity to wait until the higher-priced Christmas/New Year sailings.

May not be good news for the OP but perhaps it will be for those of us sailing next Saturday or today in SS category.

Michael's Club was fine on Infinity today, not sure if Sky Suites are allowed yet or not. Boarding with as delayed but no escort after waiting about an hour to board.

Happy sailing,

Jenna

Yeah, I was told by Bogdan ( he was awesome and remembered us from before) that all suites are welcome on this trip. No more face recognition as in the past. I get why celebrity is doing this, but on the reflection it's really going to be a challenge

Will note that in the past Michaels has been mostly empty. On the Summit during an evening with a guitar player present there were only 6 people present. Agree that things will settle down. Most of the day we simply used it as a quiet place to read.

Just off the Eclipse and we hardly saw a single person in it other than a staff member sitting at a desk looking very bored.

I have an idea.... and I'll report back im three months as I am on "a Celerity ship" for two months....

We boarded Reflection today as well, also in a RS. As soon as we got on board we were escorted to Michael's club. Had a few drinks and appetizers and booked our specialty restaurants and some spa treatments. I would say it was 1/2 to 2/3 full. Getting drinks was a little slow, but we otherwise enjoyed ourselves. We were there earlier though, around 11:30-12:00, maybe that made a difference.

I am of mixed feelings on the MC issue, I would want my friends in Sky Suites to have access....will just have to see how it works out....as for your comments....getting there early does not fix a crowded room.....how long it takes to get drinks...or access to the concierge.

Get there earlier next time. Easy fix.

When we sailed on Summit in September MC was crowded on embarkation day, until suites were open, and on disembarkation day. There were some people on embarkation day that we never saw after that and MC was pretty slow most days, except for the night the officers attended. A little more crowded during high tea but no where near to capacity. It should level out after the initial rush.

I heard today for Dec 13th cruise it was opening on Eclipse, I thought it was January.

There was some talk about sending SS to Luminae for embarkation so there would be room, who knows how it will go, the place is too small for everyone at the same time and was packed when we boarded.

You know I really love unlimited internet.

With free drinks, the place will be packed. If a lot have the beverage package, not so much. It will be a zoo on TA's.

Yes, the official statement from X was that those in SS would go to Luminae on embarkation day until their suites were ready. Apparently no one from Miami told the staff on the Reflection?

The title of the thread says that now Michael's is open to everyone. But, the discussion belies that claim as apparently only suite guests can now use Michael's. Elite members who used to have access to Michael's no longer do. Nor do any other non-suite passengers.

Since Michael's was closed to those on Elite level, we have noticed that most of the time the room has more staff than passengers. It was obviously being underutilized. Therefore, opening up the club to other suite passengers seems to make sense. It really doesn't matter to me since I can no longer use Michael's as the so called Elites were banned.
