COMPLAINERS UNITE! What Can Royal Do Better?

Recommended Posts

I started this thread seven years ago. I can't believe it's still active.

Since it is active again, I'll add in one trivial tiny matter that is so silly, but nobody seems to correct it. The Loyalty Ambassadors on Jewel and Allure put up signs on their desks when they are not there call Guest services for an appointment. But when you call Guest Services they are clueless and say just show up during their posted hours. Doesn't seem like it should be that hard to get get the communication lines working between the two.

All I would change is the crazy pricing for solo.

I travel often solo(as often as I can based on the double pricing or more they charge).....if they could give us a break, I would travel more.

Therefore they would make more money from me in the long run, as I spend more on 10 cruises then I would on 5.......

Allow cruisers to either bring or purchase a lousy bottle of rum (or whatever) for my stateroom. I don't think the cruise line will go under for that. After all, we're on the high seas. A bottle of grog is appropriate! :D

I see no reason why bringing on a single bottle of rum, or vodka, or whatever, is unreasonable. I know if you allow one, people will try two, but then confiscate it. One bottle would only put a small dent into what we spend on a normal cruise on booze. :p

I would also love to see some adult only cruises, especially around Spring Break and during the summer months.

Someone obviously dug it up from 6 feet under. It really should be dumped as many do not realise it is so old. And its title is offensive anyway, as this is an open forum, nobody should be banned from any thread, even in jest

The thread's title was actually posted "tongue in cheek". Certainly you realize anyone can post on any thread that they choose. No censorship here as long as members follow the community guidelines.

This thread was originally started in response to another thread at the time which stated complainers weren't allowed to participate.

Hopefully that clears up the original intent of the thread.

I believe that there are always improvements that can be made and the thread should remain open. Most threads that are older have little value but recent ideas on improvement should continue.

IMO, it would be appropriate to close *this* thread and start a new one.

Bring back the chocolates on my pillow and crown and anchor gifts, better service overall, on the wash and fold laundry deal please do not destroy my clothes and at least have them come back in good enough shape to wear. The shopping needs to improve onboard. Same sales and junk each cruise. Need more nice logo wear from men & women. I still love to cruise RCCL but things are changing and not all in a positive way.

I'd agree with this if it was divided into two parts. Reason being the early to mid 2014 posts onward are still relevant (for the most part). Let's say Part I and then Part II with Part I being locked.

Kewlguy might be able to get the IT guys/gals at CC to make this happen if not already possible ;)

Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah everyone!

RCI should be more transparent and treat their customers equally!

There were mechanical issues on the Freedom of the Seas which prevented her to cruise at top speed. This in turn affected our itinerary. We lost 7hr30min of port time due to this.

What makes it disturbing to me is that RCI did not notify the customers on the Dec 7th cruise until we were about to board the ship!

In addition, passengers on the Dec 7th cruise were not given any compensation (either onboard credit or discount on future cruises). But in fact, the cruise prior and cruises after the Dec 7th cruise received compensation.

RCI did not deliver their end of the vacation by shortening the time at ports due to the ship's mechanical issue. Customers paid good money to be on a working ship and not a broken one. I as well as all our fellow cruisers on board the ship paid fully for a trip as per our original itinerary. To me, this seems unethical and deceptive that RCI did not notify their customers and compensate on the loss time and missed port. I would understand if a medical or weather related issue caused the ship to have to shorten the stay at ports. But this wasn't the case for the Dec 7th cruise.

I may have to resort to other cruise lines in the future due to this lack of business practice. I truly hope RCI consider all the above mentioned points and make the necessary changes so that future customers will not have to bare with this type of experience.

MORE RADIANCE CLASS SHIPS!!

and

Keep the dance music in the Lounge with the LARGE dance floor. - - Had the dance band upstairs in the Viking Lounge with a "Postage-Stamp" dance floor, and the "Kareoke" (does NOT need a dance floor) in the dance lounge. duh...

TOTALLY AGREE WITH THE ABOVE!!!

I love Royal but no cruise line is perfect. There's always room for improvement. What would you like to see Royal do or change to make your cruise experience more enjoyable.

Stop trying to cram on as many passengers as possible. Creating new cabins into every nook and cranie has caused some ships (Navigator) to be horribly over-crowded. There's no elbow room anymore. Elevators feel like a death trap where you can't even breathe. And the pool deck is just a mass of bodies everywhere. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!:(

I agree Johnny rocket should be free. I won't eat in 1 on shore one because they are overpriced. 5 Guys beats them but LOTA BURGER tops all. They should have a breakfast nook aft on the 11th deck or higher where you can get waffles, toast, English Muffins serial and milk like Princess. It did a booming business. Hot food is a must, on 1 we got cold food and sloppy handling and lots of people had mild food poisoning.

I don't miss the chocolates on my pillow.....since I find enough chocolate in other items to fill the 'chocoholic' in me on board. I would like more logo items besides t-shirts.....on our first cruise I bought logo shorts. After 10 years those shorts need to be retired....on our last few cruises I have looked in the shops on board, but to no avail.....none were found for purchase....so disappointing.

No smoking in the casinos.

Better organization outside the terminals when boarding - outside areas are not well marked - lines form haphazardly depending on who directs the arriving passengers. Hard to tell where any priority lines are - nothing is marked well. We recently boarded in Port Canaveral - it started with 3 outside lines - one on each side of the terminal (East & West), and a single line for priority in the center. By the time the lines started moving, we counted at least 6 or 7 different lines.

Require all head waiters on the first or second night to introduce themselves to EVERY table they are responsible for - all tables should have an assigned head waiter - their names should ALSO be on each table.
