Recommended Posts

Never use the Cruise Critic attachment feature. . . Just us any photo editing software (I use MS Office Picture Mgr), and load them to your favorite on line photo gallery. . .Fotki, Webshots, or photobucket. I use my own server.

You should use the Photo Test forum on Cruise Critic to try it out.

I hope they don’t add a 15 % tip for self service wine and how do they check for underage drinking if a kid has his mom‘s Sea Pass Card? I don’t see this as a great idea only as a reduced numbers of bar staff.

steve

Actually, they do, at least they do in Vintages on Liberty. It's built into the price of the glass rather than added as a separate item. So the price for a $10 glass of wine at the bar would be $11.50 in the dispenser.

The other advantage for RCI is that the pours are precise, so they don't serve as much per glass as a friendly bartender might.

They have these on the Solstice Class ships on Celebrity. You have to purchase a card from the bartender to use the wine "vending machines" lol. This prevents underage drinking.

I would assume (although sometimes that's the worst thing we can do) that it works the same on a Royal ship.

No wonder the amounts seemed so odd. I remember the cheapest pour being $4.80 for 3 ounces.

Maybe the 15% is for the maintenance of the machines -- replacing empty bottles, making sure there are clean glasses available, etc.

Hello everyone. . . There were a ton of Activities today, and many passengers did the “Lay out in the sun” activity. . .It was a perfect day for it. The sun blazed all day, and the temps were very warm (94F) We had light winds, and it was a very pleasant day.

I went to another 3D Movie “Megamind”, and I was able to do a little skating in Studio B. I was able to take a few minutes to doze of a little, but I had to wake and go to a Bridge tour at 3PM.

1st Officer Henk Toll from the Netherlands was very happy to be on Allure. His last ship was Independence of the Seas, and he loves the new technology that Allure offers. He suggested that even in calm seas, they deploy the stabilizers when the divers are performing for a show. . . They want to make it as safe as possible.

I was going to Amber theater tonight to see “Mosaic” but I may go down the the “Radio Friendly” Casino Royale. . .

Here are a few pics from today !

Radio, could you please let us know who is the Captain?

Thanks.

Just off of the Allure Sunday and Captain Zini is the Captain. He is very personable and always has a smile on his face! Don't miss his daily tv show on channel 40 called The Captain's Log, very informative!!! By the way, he said he is 44 yrs old! Did I mention he is easy on the eyes!
