dreamr Posted November 17, 2015 #6376 Share Posted November 17, 2015 I tend to agree with this. You can still get the normal fare that is offered in the MDR, but now you can order Specialty restaurant food without having to pay to get in to them. Definitely going to want to read your review! What is your stateroom category? I was originally in a studio...but three days before the cruise, they offered me an upgrade to a balcony! Never had a balcony before (and probably won't again), so I am enjoying every second of it! :D
jason3695 Posted November 17, 2015 #6377 Share Posted November 17, 2015 We booked 11700 for a February sailing and are considering the Supper Club for "date night". Would love to see a menu and pics of a forward ocean view family cabin! AND... Thank you for sharing all the pics and info on this gorgeous ship! We are thrilled beyond compare now!!! :D I will be in 10700. Did you ever find any pics?
calgaryhhr Posted November 17, 2015 #6378 Share Posted November 17, 2015 Just docked in St. Thomas! I've been having a blast so far. As far as arcade games, can't speak for all of them, but skiball near O'Sheehan's is $1 per game. I may have played it a few times... Went to see For The Record last night. It was so awesome, my new friend and I both said we were tempted to book it for a second time. Phenomenal cast and show. Highly recommended. What time were passengers able to get off the ship on St. Thomas? We are on the Dec 12 sailing and have a fishing charter booked starting at 8:30. The Captain of the charter says passengers almost never have a problem getting off the boat by 8:30.

I'm not sure, I'm sorry. I've been to these ports before and I'm a "the ship is my destination" girl (at least for this trip), so I didn't pay any attention to the disembarking announcements. :( I'm sure there will be plenty of others who are able to help you out, though. :)

TheDougOut Posted November 17, 2015 #6381 Share Posted November 17, 2015 (edited) Hello, I'm looking for a hotel in Miami for a one night stay pre cruise April 2016. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance for any suggestions! 150 days to go!!!! Yesterday I booked two rooms at the Hyatt Place East at Miami Airport in late January for $82/room through hot wire (am I allowed to say that site's name??). The hotel was appearing as "Miami airport - all suites hotel", as you don't know the name until you accept/pay for the offer. Apparently the hotel just opened within the last couple weeks, and it's getting great reviews. I'm not sure how I got that rate, as 2 and 3 star hotels are running $175-250 for that night. I looked again last night out of curiosity, and the offer was up to $160. Edited November 17, 2015 by TheDougOut Uh, need to figure out we're allowed to mention specifc travel sites... SuiteCruiser Posted November 17, 2015 #6382 Share Posted November 17, 2015 (edited) Hello, I'm looking for a hotel in Miami for a one night stay pre cruise April 2016. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance for any suggestions! 150 days to go!!!! I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami several times. It's right across the street from Bayside Market with restaurants and stores. Price vary a lot, so I'd say book early if you see a good rate. $80/night is good. Edited November 17, 2015 by SuiteCruiser
Yorkvillain Posted November 17, 2015 #6383 Share Posted November 17, 2015 "Oh no not again" Luxurious seafood at the buffet...! I suggest that anyone that is interested in this all you can eat seafood buffet, go on the Escape before February 20th because they will probably discontinue it immediately after I sail. ashdquick Posted November 17, 2015 #6384 Share Posted November 17, 2015 Hi Everyone. I apologize in advance if this question has already been asked. I didn't see it already but I could have missed it. Can anyone tell me if there are height requirements for the slides? I am interested in knowing about the yellow kids slide and the blue slide. I am not so concerned with the racer slides (where the bottom drops out). My son wants to ride the yellow and blue but wasn't sure if there was a height requirement. TIA! Thank you in advance for any suggestions! 150 days to go!!!! Hello Aqua: You did not say what are your expectations, if any, from a pre-cruise hotel but the favorite hotel for cruisers in the Bayside Holiday Inn across from Bayside. Cover the most bases for a day or two before or after the cruise. The hotels nearer the airport are ok if you are looking for a short ride to airport day of flight-out but like most airport hotels, they are in the middle of nowhere or a very commercial area. "No Bueno" A very overlooked nice hotel area is Coral Gables. Good location, plenty to do, safe and several good price choices. Let me know if you need more... You should be receiving free specialty dinners as a platinum member as well as the Casino's @ Sea VIP. So they're still taking care of you. Right??? You can pretty much weat hatever you like without being charged. Edited November 18, 2015 by CruisinHarvey

Funny how people think it is a benefit to now be charged for what had been included in the cruise fare for the past 20+ years. DAve And people complained when airlines started charging for luggage. It, also, had been included in the fair. Now some airlines even are charging for you to choose your seats. In addition, for the same fare airlines are no longer giving you pillows or blankets. Now some cruise ships no longer serve lobster and prime rib in the MDR. If you want it, you have to pay for it. Years ago cruise ships would turn out the lights and serve baked Alaska for dessert. It was included in the fare as was the Midnight Buffet....that's no longer included. The good thing is if one does not want to pay for prime rib they can still get it free at O'Sheehan's or the buffet. Oh, and don't forget......one used to have to pay to eat in the Asian restaurants and not that's free. Harriet
Rare aubreyc1988 Posted November 18, 2015 #6396 Share Posted November 18, 2015 Hello, I'm looking for a hotel in Miami for a one night stay pre cruise April 2016. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance for any suggestions! 150 days to go!!!! If we can, we always stay at The Element, by Westin - really love their rooms which usually all come with a pull out sofa and kitchenette WITH all utensils included, so modern and high class feeling and it's usually affordable too - I love their "heavenly" beds, and their rainfall shower! They are also extremely Eco friendly hotel, which I LOVE and am glad to support. i checked a friday in april, 150ish a night, free breakfast, shuttle to and from airport, they do have cruise packages, but if you do the shuttle to the port, it's 12.00 per person. When we stayed in Sept, we also received two free drink vouchers for the bar :D I am a little choosy with my hotels, but when I find a good one, I tend to stick with them :)

CalLuvsCrusingToo Posted November 18, 2015 #6400 Share Posted November 18, 2015 We stayed at the Intercontinental before a cruise last year & also recommend it. This Friday we fly in so LATE (midnight) that were staying closer to FLL, and shuttling to Miami in the morning. But if we flew in earlier, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at I again.
