Pappion Posted November 23, 2015 #6502 Share Posted November 23, 2015 Yeah you don't like to sit near smoke while you gamble your family's fortune away. Like I said on my last Cruise, casino at sea members don't get free Cruise you have to lose sufficient amount of money before they start getting anything so they pay for the cruise with the money they lose. Actually you're wrong. I've won quite a bit and still get free offers. I also get free offers from land based casinos(non-smoking ones at that) where I come out ahead. You're pretty quick on the attack of non-smokers. You use your "fortune" to smoke, why can't non-smokers gamble? If the casino is 50/50 then I think smokers can stay in their area and leave the other part to those who don't enjoy it. It only seems fair. msmic Posted November 23, 2015 #6505 Share Posted November 23, 2015 Here is my lovely drawing: (Original photo courtesty of Ingrid Fiebak photography.) Thanks for sharing your pictures and the information on the elevators. I'll be on Deck 16 on the 12/12/15 sailing and have Haven access with my suite. The heads up on the elevators is a big help. hpecorari Posted November 23, 2015 #6507 Share Posted November 23, 2015 Here is my lovely drawing: (Original photo courtesty of Ingrid Fiebak photography.) Great photo, thanks! I do know there are elevators that go above deck 17 but I was specifically talking about IN the Haven. Reading down I see others have answered but I did want to respond to you that I liked your photo! Harriet
Coastalbreezes Posted November 23, 2015 #6508 Share Posted November 23, 2015 If someone is in the Haven on deck 18 is there an elevator there to take them down to deck 17 or any other lower decks or do they need to take the stairs to deck 17 and then take an elevator. The deck plans show an elevator on deck 17 right outside of the Haven, however, when one looks at deck 18 there is no elevator - which makes me think those on deck 18 need to use the stairs to get to an elevator since there is not one on deck 18 but is one on deck 17. If that's the case, and I might be totally wrong that it is the case, why would there be a HC cabin on deck 18. And... the HC cabin on deck 17 would need to use the stairs to get to the Haven restaurant? Anyone been in the Haven that can enlighten me? Thanks! Harriet Harriet, There is an elevator within the Haven itself. It will take you from the Haven deck 17 lounge/concierge area up to deck 18 cabins and restaurant and up again to deck 19 Haven's upper loungers and outdoor area (which on Escape has a rather nice hot tub). Note that the only restroom for the Haven is on deck 17 so if you're dining you have to go down one floor. I found service in the Haven restaurant slow no matter what meal. One day I was one of only four people there for lunch and it took 40 minutes for my sandwich to arrive. The bright, shining star in the Haven is bartender Marc McArthur, a master mixologist and true cocktail artist. It's rare that I hang out in the Haven bar but on the TA and inaugural, my son and I spent many hours watching Marc handcraft some of the best tasting cocktails we have ever had. Trust me, if you are into cocktails, don't pass up the opportunity to watch Marc in action. I posted my review of the TA here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2278521 Working on my review of the Inaugural November 14 cruise and will post as soon as possible. I will say this however: I do not love this ship. I wanted to love her, I really did, but don't think I will sail on her again. I didn't care for Bayamo at all, Food Republic is constantly running out of items, Tapas Bar I got a HUGE bone the size of a knuckle in my duck confit and cracked a tooth, twice in Teppanyaki there was blatant cross-contamination (which I reported), and more (just have to check my notes). The other highlight for me was For the Record. An amazing show with a talented cast. Unfortunately the night that we went there was a table of inebriates behind us talking very loudly throughout the entire show and drunk enough that they were trying to interact with the cast when they went out into the audience. Dave85 Posted November 23, 2015 #6509 Share Posted November 23, 2015 Sorry if I missed this (was cruising the last 12 days), but for the folks returning, what are they using as a DJ dance club at night since starting service in the Caribbean? Is it just Spice H20, or are they using any indoor venues?
Rare insidecabin Posted November 23, 2015 #6510 Share Posted November 23, 2015 On top of the elevators it shows which floors they go to. The port elevators go to 18 and one of them is marked that it goes to 19, we used that for Vibe. It does not have it's own call button though. The trick as on the other ships is to take the first one that comes as high as they go. The up buttons then call the correct one. I have yet to find a ship with good elevator scheduling. Was thinking how luck would work your way to catch the one to deck 19. :D

Was thinking how luck would work your way to catch the one to deck 19. :D We lucked out a few times, but usually had to walk up the stairs outside, no biggie for us, but for those with mobility issues could use the up button trick from 18 :) Edited November 23, 2015 by SuiteCruiser

numberguy Posted November 23, 2015 #6515 Share Posted November 23, 2015 Thanks to everyone for their updates! If anyone who just returned from the 7 day has dailies, would love to see them. Go to http://www.cruisewithgambee.com then click on "Dailies" on the left, then click on "Norwergian" [sic], then click on Norwegian Escape, and there they are. --Michael If I'm not supposed to do this, someone just let me know, and I'll ask the moderators to take this post down. The cake was spongy or more like cornbread. The frosting while pretty was that whipped cream stuff.

Were disappointed then and haven't heard that it's any better....so not worth even giving it another try - in our opinion. :o

happy cruzin Posted November 23, 2015 #6520 Share Posted November 23, 2015 So - this is a little disappointing for those of us looking for H6 info. :o I asked to join the Escape page discussed here - and then posted that I was in search of information or photos of 9318. I got a response....I have asked if she has photos she's wiling to share. "That was my Cabin from Hamburg-Miami . It is nothing like 9916 or 9316 on the GA or BA. First, the balcony is much smaller (less than half the size) and there is much less furniture on the Escape balcony. The living area is more narrow and there is too much furniture in the smaller space. The sofa is near the window. The bedroom is a bit larger, and it has a door to the balcony. The bathroom does not have a jetted tub or have windows. The second bathroom is the same size." So I asked if it was not as deep as the -Aways, because from the best photo I've seen it seems to be about the same length. This was her response... "No, not as wide either. There was another open-able divider built that opens to the B1 next to it. I will try to get you some pictures." Guess we will see. But, sad to say - this might be the end of the H6's for us. It was the balcony that made it so special! :(

mvh Posted November 23, 2015 #6523 Share Posted November 23, 2015 I was looking at the Escape Daily and I hope I'm just blind, but I did not see a single comedian on there. Can that be correct, is it dueling pianos every night? Please tell me I'm wrong.
