Radio,

As always, love your LIVE reviews. We will be getting on the Quantum Feb. 13. Did Capt. Gus tell you who his replacement may be? Bummer about the free WiFi running out, but glad you had it to post these awesome pics and info. Thanks!

Good morning everyone. . . Welcome to DAY 10 of “LIVE” from Quantum of the Seas. . .

Yes, today is the last day of the cruise, but there are still many things to do today. I have a Galley tour this morning and a Backstage TWO 70 tour this afternoon. There is also Name that Tune, and I have reservations for Sonic Odyssey. . .

We are travelling near the coast while heading north. Captain Gus Andersson has altered our route home to stay on the leeward side of the cold front, which will produce much heavier seas and heavy rain. It shouldn’t be as rough as yesterday, but there will still be significant wave heights, and yes it will be very cold.

The sun came up strong again this morning, but there is some rain in the forecast for later this afternoon. There will be a Super Bowl party in TWO 70 and Casino Royale for the game starting at 6:30 this evening. There will be many snacks and beverages for all who attend. It should be a wild party.

I have to attend Captain’s Corner at 1PM for a question and answer session about Quantum of the Seas.

Here are a few pics from this morning. . . . Thanks for tuning in.

There is a blog about royal caribbean where Michael Bailey explains the new dining option in a video.

Or you can go to YouTube and search for

Dynamic dining to classic dining on Anthem of the Seas.

Your postings were so informative with those amazing pictures. Enjoyed keeping up with you on your sailing and looking forward to ours in exactly one month. Looks like the Dynamic Dining won't be eliminated by then but I hope it will be better organized. Sorry you're coming back to miserable weather but you have your good memories of an awesome ship. Hope to see a full review and more info on the new menus when you get back. Where on CC will you be posting these? Thanks again for taking the time to keep us informed of ports and ship!

Mary Ann :) ;)

Radio,

Your sojourn is coming to an end so I would like to personally thank you for you great reporting. I especially liked your pictures and can't wait to see more on your site. Your photography makes me feel like I was there with you and the rest of our sailing friends.

Have a safe "tail end" of your voyage and a safe trip home.

Hello everyone. . . I am now at the final night of my 10 night Quantum of the Seas cruise. Today was a hit and miss day as I was able to do many things, but also missed several things. I started off with a galley tour at 9:30 this morning. There were a lot more people on this tour than I was used to previously. There were about 25 passengers on the tour. It is often just 7 or 8 people. It was a short tour and we were able to see the main galley which is shared by all the complimentary restaurants as well as Windjammer.

I stopped in to see the Robo Show. It is very cool and something they do almost every hour when there are no performances in Two70.(I will post some vids of Robo Show upon return home) Captain’s Corner was held right after that and it was very informative. I was able to film most of Captain’s Corner and will publish that very soon. I spoke with Captain Gus afterwards and he told me that Captain Henrik Sorensen will be boarding in Bayonne tomorrow so Captain Gus can turn over the ship to him, as the February 2nd cruise will be the last cruise on Quantum for Captain Gus.

North Star was open again today for about 4 rides and I was going to board North Star but now I am glad that I did not. I spoke with a CC buddy of mine and it seems that North Star got stuck for a while and a 5 minute ride turned out to be over 45 minutes long. Yikes. . .I would not have liked that at all.

The Super Bowl is being shown in many areas on the ship including the pool deck, Two70 lounge, Music Hall and Casino Royale. Some of the snacks served included hot dogs, chili, chips and salsa, etc and Two70 lounge had the biggest crowd.

This has been a good cruise for me. I was able to experience Dynamic Dining on most evenings. I always had a reservation and never had to wait. I can certainly understand that some passengers are having concerns with DD but I never had one issue the whole week. I have every one of the new menus and plan on scanning them once I return home.

We are scheduled to pick up the pilot tomorrow around 4 AM and should be sailing under the Verrazano Narrows Bridge at about 5:15 AM.

Here are a few pics from today. Thanks for all the nice comments and thanks for tuning in.

Thanks Radio for a super review - we would love to go on Quantum or Anthem - just wish it didn't go out of NJ - too cold the first 2 days and last 2 days over the winter months. Your pics and overall review of the cruise are great - thanks!

Radio, thanks for sharing your vacation with us! It's been great to hear all about it and see all the wonderful pictures. I'm hoping to one day get a chance to go on Quantam. It's been 15 years since my last cruise going on Independence in July. Your review made me even more excited about cruising again. Safe travels until you return home.
