What is your favorite appetizer?

It's been a couple of years and I see so many new appetizers on the menu but my altimeter favorites is the escargot and the duck!!! Every cruise we go on carnival we have ordered these. What is yours?

Fried oysters in MDR and beef carpaccio in the steakhouse. I like many of the other MDR appetizers too.

The ahi tuna appetizer on the short itins out of Long Beach. The scallops on the American Feast on the same itin.

Chilled watermelon soup.

 

On our last cruise there were several nights when I ordered a string of appetizers and no entree. Asked the waiter to bring them out in whatever order he chose.

It taste like tender roast beef. Plus, I like to offer everyone at the table a little tongue.;)

Spring Rolls and french onion soup are two of my favorites.

Sometimes I order two appetizers because I cannot decide. Alot depends on what I'm hungry for at that particular time though.

I am surprised to see so many votes for the french onion soup. I absolutely love French onion soup and did not think it could ever ever be bad- until I had Carnivals. I think canned soup was better.

Have not had the American table menus, so I am talking about the old menus This is what I liked

Spring rolls

baked stuffed mushrooms

chicken tenders (both the fried ones the first night and the one later in the week with thai spices)

strawberry bisque

crab cakes

cream of mushroom soup

My favorite are the flat breads and the braised kale with blackened pork tenderloin tarts!

 

Oh, and the chicken tenders they serve in the sauce with the noodles.

Crab cakes, escargot, French onion soup, cream of mushroom soup and cream of brocolli soup. I am not a fan of cold soups, but one time the waiter brought me chilled bing cherry soup instead of brocolli soup and I fell in love with it!

I like the Navy Bean soup, spring rolls and crab cake. my hubby likes the Ox tongue, potato soup and escargot.

Escargot is excellent,,,and I ordered it in the steak house, and it was even better than in the dining room. Bean soup is excellent also.

Maybe you just had a bad experience with the french onion soup. Try again sometime.
