Rare John&LaLa Posted July 10, 2018 #152 Share Posted July 10, 2018 They knock and then use a key. That's how your petit fours, and such get delivered Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk [emoji848]You can leave the items in the room and they will enter the room and remove the items. You can leave or stay. Thanks Bob. It just sounds so much better coming from you than from one of the useless posters like me. Rare island lady Posted July 11, 2018 #153 Share Posted July 11, 2018 I suppose that there is a simple solution to this problem though if enough people complain...no more room service! ;) Wouldn't bother me.
Rare island lady Posted July 11, 2018 #154 Share Posted July 11, 2018 This! We don't place dishes or trays in the hall as it is not a big deal if we have to wait a bit for pick-up. We are not going to clutter public walkways with our used dishes and trays. We have also used our own feet (radical, I know!) to return used dishes to the Windjammer. Same here.
Rare island lady Posted July 11, 2018 #155 Share Posted July 11, 2018 Seriously. It's so pathetic that someone walking down the hall can't be bothered to keep their eyes open. I don't want my remnants kicked around and smeared on the carpet. I put them neatly on the tray in the hallway so they could be picked up! Really...have you been out in the hallways around 2 am when the late night party types come stumbling back trying to find their cabin? :o :o
Rare island lady Posted July 11, 2018 #156 Share Posted July 11, 2018 Having a great day, thank you very much. I still don't understand your problem. Personally I'm in the leave it in the room camp. The wife, however, is in the leave it in the hall camp. I forget where you stand. You're not the OP, correct. But then again, it really doesn't matter. nivrag4511 Posted July 11, 2018 #159 Share Posted July 11, 2018 I always thought that you were supposed to leave them in the hall. I think leaving them in your cabin just makes extra work for your steward.

dbarton02 Posted July 12, 2018 #165 Share Posted July 12, 2018 RCCL appears to have cut back on staffing, so placing items in the hall just makes more work for the remaining staff, and damages the "ambiance" of being on the ship. Agreed. Best thing about an RCCL cruise, especially on a formal night, is to take a romantic stroll through the halls of all the staterooms. So much to see. :'):')
lenquixote66 Posted July 12, 2018 #166 Share Posted July 12, 2018 Agree with you completely! I do not believe in Room Service .Leaving food residue on plates in the cabin can lead to visitation by bugs.
Langley Cruisers Posted July 12, 2018 #167 Share Posted July 12, 2018 Leaving food residue on plates in the cabin can lead to visitation by bugs. Hi Lenny - not sure where those bugs would be coming from? Like ants? On a ship at sea? :o

Langley Cruisers Posted July 13, 2018 #174 Share Posted July 13, 2018 You seriously do not believe that a ship cannot have bugs ? What about bed bugs ? Lenny, I didn't say that at all. I know ships have bed bugs but I honestly didn't think you were seriously referring to bed bugs, let alone ants (for example). Bed bugs eat food on room service trays? No. :) They feed on human and animals, not spilled food or other food of human origin. lenquixote66 Posted July 13, 2018 #175 Share Posted July 13, 2018 Bed bugs eat food on room service trays? Surely you jest . My point is that bugs are everywhere ,on airplanes ,on ships and every other place.
