Now its a free for all with anyone coming in and it gets really crowded. We eat breakfast in the DR and relax there until they close at 8:30. so purely to get off the ship early, would you say the lounge is just as good as the casino because at least there's seating? i'm not in a hurry to get off first and we just have 2 carryons each. but def wanna avoid the long customs lines. when we did casino last year i think was 715 we got off and zero lines at customs. very nice! one thing i dont want is a longer wait if i do the lounge ---------------- separately, since you said you relax until 830 in the MDR, how are customs lines then when you get off? its gonna be a last minute decision if we want to maximize time on board or not. The seating is comfortable but as far as customs times there is no way to predict that imo.

Just another Way for Princess to pump up its revenue by luring us in and making us pay for our drinks 🍸 The appetizers have remain the same as long as I’ve been going for over 10 years, raw steak, which nobody seems to partake in, some breadsticks some celery sticks , subpar tortilla chips, and a shrimp fountain, and some smelly cheeses on certain nights. You really wouldn’t be missing much. LOL You certainly summed up my thoughts exactly.
Eagle_and_hawk Posted October 26, 2018 #65 Share Posted October 26, 2018 We agree the P/E/S party is not worth much, especially if you are not interested in the drink of the day. Here is the offerings this cruise on CB.

Talk about comparing rotten apples to komquats! Michael's in a high end (or Zenith) suite benefit. In Michaels you do not have to choose between a tiny menu of strange drinks. If I want a decent single malt,,,,,I get it! If I want a nice beer....no problem. And it is free. If DW wants a Cosmo made with Grey Goose...it done! And the venue is small enough to be conducive to conversation. The Platinum/Elite cocktail party is open to hundreds of cruisers (even more on some cruises), has a very limited drink menu with discounted prices (very slightly discounted prices) with everything else sold at the regular price! And the daily "treats" are of such quality that we would not even serve that stuff to strangers visiting our home. The last time I went to a Princess party (hard to remember that far back) there was a crowd of about 150 sitting around in their own enclaves (it was in a large lounge) sipping drinks (for which they paid) and eating some tortilla chips and sub-standard salsa (nothing like what we get in Mexico where we live part of the year). I must admit that I still will sometimes stop in when they have the stilton cheese, grab a plat of cheese and crackers...and quickly depart the lounge for better places. Not sure if we are allowed to leave with the food.....but nobody has ever dared to stop us :). Hank

You sound very negative about Princess, is it the itineraries that you still sail with them or are there other reasons? Theo

As a comparison to Celebrity, this event is more like the Elite Party being held in the Celebrity’s Sky Lounge when drink coupons are used (and allowed to be used at other bars). People come to the Sky Lounge for the social aspect and snacks and not the free drinks. Princess gives the Elite status people a free minibar set up instead of free drinks.
