First time on Cruise Critic Boards and amazed at all the Millennium revolution photos (even drone footage) ! We have been on a dozen or so cruises over the years and can usually choose a room without too much trouble. However, we are struggling with our Aqua Class room choice for our Alaskan (Seward to Vancouver) cruise in mid-May. 

 

Deck 10- new AQ rooms - anyone know if all 13 have noise issue from Cosmos? Is the noise only if you are on balcony or can you actually hear noise from Cosmos in the stateroom? Many of these cabins are available (but not for long I’m sure.) 

 

1141 on Deck 11- we currently have aft 1141 chosen. Saw so many great Pre-revolution posts about the aft cabin so we chose it.... but now worried about the new wooden “canopy” (lack of regular canopy) over the bar below. Privacy issue?  (Seen pictures but can’t tell if it’s onky an issue if someone stands in a certain place etc.) How much noise can you hear from bar? Noise from movie theater a real issue?

 

Deck 11 other cabins-is movie theater noise an issue? Balcony overhang looks shallow- will this be an issue on an Alaskan mid May cruise? 

 

Deck 9- I stayed away from choosing this deck as my only experience with being on a deck below the pool is noise from chairs being drug around (esp. middle of night while crew is cleaning). Accurate assumption to stay away from Deck 9 to avoid noise from above?

 

We love Celebrity and sailed on Galaxy many years ago- remains one of our favorite cruises! 

 

This is a very special occasion (parents’ retirement) and I am trying to make as well informed decision as possible with our cabin choice. (They are staying in a Celebrity Suite.)

For Deck 11 and Deck 9 older cabins, a lot of information can be found within the M-Class Cabin Information thread.  Go to “Celebrity Cruises” board area and it is actually a “sticky thread” at the top.  Open the link to the spreadsheet and you can set a temporary filter for Decks 9 and 11.  Loads of info has been compiled for the original cabins.

Hello,

Can you please give us an update on the noise issue (from Cosmos) with your Deck 10 AquaClass cabin? 

Trying to decide on one of these rooms for our May Alaskan cruise.

From comments made by others it seems like the AQ cabins on Deck 10 are a bit smaller then the rest? Or did the others also get smaller? Or am I just confused?

 

Also...we have an AQ cabin on Deck 9 on the Summit in April. It looks like we're right where the doors on Deck 10 are...not right under the pool. Will this be an issue? Do you suggest changing location?

I was surprised by this myself.  Much of the press seems to be directed to Kelly Hoppen.

Adding Daniel Boulud is probably the least controversial, blatantly obvious, smart decision that Celebrity has made recently.  This will likely renew great interest in specialty dining and suite cabins.  Some may be tempted to uproot form Aqua.

 

The Ballet may be more mixed, especially if done several times per cruise.  Still seems like a refreshing change from some of the subpar pop, or odd niche shows on Edge.  Taking what some consider X's weakest link, and turning it into a draw from theater art fans from other lines, is not a bad move.

It makes sense. It didn't look Kelly Hoppen-ish to me. She does the neutrals, but has a pop of color for pillows and art (blue, wine, orange, green in staterooms and bright yellow in the Retreat). The Millennium non-suites are neutral with muted colors for pillows and art  (what I've seen so far anyway). It is relaxing-looking. Like the Edge, it probably looks better in person (or at least I didn't like the Edge cabin decor much until I actually saw it in person). 🙂

Thanks to everyone who has offered info and pics of the new Millie.  I know change is very hard for folks, especially those of us who are older travelers!  

I find it easy to accept changes in color schemes and actually sort of like these changes..  I must admit I love(d) the old Michael’s Club comfort and look..   My only concern with the changes is the question of comfort!  Tables and chairs in cabins and Retreat area and Michael’s Club look really small, cheap and uncomfortable.   And I will definitely be very unhappy without the awning over 6145 and/or 6146 and the fewer shaded areas at bars and on deck.  We always look for a shaded balcony due to our age and skin concerns.  I really hope the pictures do not portray the furniture accurately.  Older folks really need sturdy, stable comfortable furniture..  We love Celebrity and hope these changes prove to be pleasing and comfortable .  I will remain positive and look forward to my 2/1/2020 voyage on the year old New Millie!

Looking for updated info on the spa heated loungers or still a bench in the middle of the area?  Was hoping they'd be moved to the outer walls for better views and made into separate loungers.  

 

Also any pics of the Royal Suite balcony?  Did they keep the hottub?

Very nice idea. Hopefully his culinary expertise is not just for specialty dining, but more like back in the days of Michele Roux when the MDR meals reflected his eye for fine dining.

Am I correct in this assumption?

I booked an FV on Infinity in June for an Oct sailing for 2 people. It was a TA, so not of interest for families. So, I would ring to find out if they would allow you to book for 3 people.

also I assume all the photos of Millennium (when you go to ship overview) on this site are of the 'old' Millennium?
