What’s the one thing...

While there are some differences, for the most part, the big things are all the same. The ship will take you to ports both good and bad. Your stateroom will be well taken care of. Food will be subjective according to your tastes. Entertainment will be subjective according to your expectations. More than anything else, the experience will be what you make it to be. If you enjoyed the other cruise lines, you will enjoy Celebrity.

What’s the best advice you’d give to a first time Celebrity cruiser who has sailed on other cruise lines?

This is such a great thread because we just booked our first cruise on Celebrity. Really excited about it, but definitely interested in knowing the differences especially in regards to drink packages, dining packages, etc. Also any tips for those staying in AquaClass.

Enjoy morning breakfast in Blu.  A nice relaxing way to start the morning.   Although the menu is more limited than what you would of course get at the buffet, don't be shy to ask your waiter if there is something you want that is not on the menu.  If he can get it for you, he will remember that on a daily basis.

Great friendly service...they go above and beyond for everything everywhere!  They pride themselves on cleanliness!  The ships are a great mix of relaxation and fun.  Small extras around the ship add elegant touches...real handcloths in the bathrooms, glass of champagne upon embarkation etc.  We love X. Going on a 10 night in September on Equinox 🍹🍸🍷🍾

Drink packages.....we've always gotten the Premium beverage package..... definitely worth it for all the premium bottled water, premium coffees, smoothies, and alcoholic drinks we consume on a daily basis!!!  All of their bartenders are excellent and make incredible specialty cocktails with premium booze

Assuming an S class ship...

If you have a sea day, visit the persian gardens. Lie on a heated tile lounger while the world passes by outside the  huge windows in front of you. Absolute bliss. I think they play very subdued music, like harps and flutes if i recall, and there is generally NO talking in there, sort of like a library. Also, go to the front of the ship and visit the relaxation room, also very quiet  and there is infused water etc. in there to sip.

Can you elaborate on this further, because lying on a tiled lounger, sounds uncomfortable, heated or not.

Perhaps someone can help me with this as well. We've had drink packages with other cruise lines and they always seem to have a limit per day. For example: Cannot spend more than $89. If you go over that, you have to pay for the extra. Is this the same for Celebrity? If we decide to do a bev package we will be purchasing it since it didn't make sense to get it as a perk when we booked (We saved almost $1000 PER PERSON by booking a resident rate).

Thanks for all the help in this thread everyone. Im really enjoying it!

I doubt iyou will find it more economical to purchase a drink package, but just in case it is unlimited.

Drink package includes the gratuity so no extra charges. Smoke free everywhere in the interior including the casino. Only one daily announcement. No reservations necessary for shows. Solarium is adults only with rare exceptions made for inclement weather and then limited hours. Aqua spa café is free for everyone. Desserts at Café al Bacio are free without any purchase necessary. Room service doesn't include beverages from your beverage package.

Many lines (& resorts) have them and people love them.  They're nothing new.

It's actually quite comfortable if you use the towels provided to lay on top of the lounger and roll up one for your head. Many folks fall asleep there.

As others said, there is no limit.  The other thing to think of is that the drink package is not only for alcoholic drinks.  Bottled water (for both on and off the ship), premium coffee and teas (as in cappuccinos, lattes, etc.) and sodas are included.  At $3+ for a bottle of water, it adds up.  We usually get two bottles of water when we leave the bar at night so we are set for our excursion the next day.  And we probably drink three bottles of water each per day.  It adds up.

Be prepared to have fun! Be prepared to be wowed at the production shows and fully entertained by the guest acts! To find the best seats go sometime during the day and check out different seat locations to see what works best for you. Make sure you go to the interactive game show right after the early show. If you like a little adventure volunteer to be a participant in one of the games. It's only 20 minutes long and a lot of fun! On sea days they usually have 3-4 different types of trivia. If you have time, try to go to a few of them as they are a lot of fun! Don't forget to stop by the future cruise office and book your next cruise! You get $300 OBC added to what ever deal you make. In other words plan on exploring everything your cruise and ship have to offer and have a great time!!!

First time celebrity cruise. We just got off Equinox last week.

(1) During the day while at sea, the pool bars are packed and hard to get a drink. So I went to the Passport bar on deck three. Not busy and had some good $9.00 drinks. I liked the pomegranate mojito. Bring both cards if you want two drinks. That's odd.

(2) The theater was easy to get a seat. Got there 10 minutes before the show and never had a bad seat.

(3) Had breakfast in Blu and had the best made to order omelette, made with real eggs. Had English bacon, and bacon done just right. I imagine main dinning has the same.

(4) They do have blended frappichino at the coffee place. We love having coffee on the balcony, but went with the cold coffee for the hot days. They have cookies and pastry for free too. I liked the oatmeal raisin cookies.

Celebrity may be more relaxed than some of the other cruises you've sailed. It's really nice to have a laid back environment with very few younger folks running around and the ability to have casual conversation wherever you might be aboard ship. Not a great party atmosphere (exception the Martini Bar after several chocolate martinis. Or so I've heard. 🙂

Yes, there is plenty of entertainment of various types to be had. We're not big on casinos, but they are aboard. We save out energy for the port excursions and tend to be more active than maybe most of the folks aboard. But, there are lots of bus excursions available for those who need to nap between ventures.

We really appreciate X for the food, service, environment and personal attention we receive. We're lucky to be able to book suite level staterooms so we get to enjoy Michael's (The Retreat Lounge) and Luminae (our all time favorite).

If you need the confusion and excitement of all the buzz and hype of Disney, X will not be for you. Don't waste your time or money.

Otherwise, enjoy your vacation. Have fun. Be safe. Be kind to others lest they be kind unto you.
