Here’s Januarys port schedule.  Only two days with 8 ships.  None over that.

This port schedule has been changed. At least our cruise is scheduled to stop at Cozumel on 13 January 20. We were supposed to go to Cozumel on 17 January 2020. But RC changed it.

That's 2019.  I think they're going in 2020.

2019 or 2020 it doesn’t matter as my post was directed at someone who said they have 10+ ships in port several days a week in January which isn’t the case.  In 2020 there’s only 2 days with 8 ships and 1 day with 9

The only ships that Dock at the downtown Pier are NCL and MSC. Carnival has the farthest dock down and Royal / celebrity is the middle dock.

We were in Cozumel last week and there was MSC, two Carnival ships, and one Royal Caribbean ship. When we saw that we thought downtown would be crazy busy. It was not. There was nobody on the street. I don't know if they stayed and shopped and drank at their own Pier or went on shore excursions. I felt bad for the merchants in the downtown area.

This is not necessarily true.

I was in Cozumel a few weeks ago on Royal and we were docked at Punta Langosta / downtown.

Same here, we've done that twice on Brilliance out of Tampa.

Hmm, that is interesting to know. We are on Brilliance in January and there are 8 ships in Cozumel. Is there a way to know where we will dock?

Perhaps Cozumel has a website schedule for their ports?

We're on Rhapsody in December and we received an email from RCL that we were going to tender in Cozumel because there were no dock slots available (three RCL ships in port, and the downtown docks were booked by other lines.

This was how the downtown pier looked when there were 13 ships in port. Just to the right of the picture and out of frame were three ships that were tendering their passengers, and there were five ships docked at the international pier complex, and at least one more up there that was tendering.

How did you get so lucky being on Royal and docking downtown?? I am jealous. All of our Royal trips have docked at the Royal International  port. We are going on Celebrity in December and hopefully we will be as lucky as you were and dock downtown. We will keep our fingers crossed!

Depends entirely on what (and how many) Royal/Celebrity ships are in Cozumel, since only two can use RCL's pier at the international docks.

We were there last week on Harmony, and Mariner was docked across from us, so Majesty had to dock downtown. The week before, Celebrity had one of their ships across from us, and Empress was docked downtown.

FYI, Casino Royale is having a Beach Bash party that day at Playa Mia.

Laura got the offer, but since we are already booked we may not get an invite.

I just realized that you are going to be on the same cruise as us... You are absolutely one my favorite posters.  Hopefully we will get a chance to meet.

Coz, is one of my favorite port runner ports, we were there in 2015 on a Springbreak cruise, sitting in the diamond lounge with a view of the pier and we knew that there were about 8 people not on board a few minutes after departure.  Some of the best gin and tonics I have ever enjoyed watching the kids (from likely University of Florida) rush on the ship from taxis trying to get back before we left on the Liberty.  Everyone made it, including one cab where they practically carried a comrade on board.

I will never ever take a spring break cruise again even if free.

How crowded is Mr. Sanchos when there are 9 ships in port? I’m wondering if I should go with somewhere more exclusive.

Nachi Cocom has a daily limit, so it won't be any more crowded.

Would love to know how you think there would be 5 at International. Do you mean with tendering?

3 Carnival, 2 Royal

It seems Carnival one is called Puerta Maya.

Sorry

The three Carnival ships will be at Puerta Maya,

I would suggest Celebrity and Adventure at International with Rhapsody probably tendering to International or possibly a town pier.

NCL and MSC at Punta Langosta.

The only time there is a problem at International is when there is an Oasis ship and they open the offsite security which leads to long lines at peak times for getting back on the ship. Also there can be a line to exit due to canine and back pack checks when leaving the port. However if there are three ships (one tendering) then they might also use the security so leave extra time for return.

The route between downtown and International will be busy.

Those are also some smaller ships.... it's not like you're going to have Oasis, Allure, Harmony, Symphony, Freedom, Liberty, and Independence docked up with you!

Bad news but we'll be docked there with you on the Allure! Make that 10 ships.
