How cool! I take it they performed, “The Rain, the park and other things?”

Yes , I unfortunately left for the casino before they did my favorite sing Hair. They told some funny stories on being on tv shows when they were kids on Johnny Cash and Dean Martin.

I called our insurance company to let them know we replaced that vehicle.  I was shocked when they gave us the new insurance numbers.  Buying that new vehicle, and it went down by $3

I agree, it makes no sense until my agent explained it to me. When an older car is in an accident, it's more likely to be consider a total loss since the cost of repair is often close to the value of the car. Usually if the cost of the repair exceeds 70-75% of the value of the car, the insurance company considers it totaled & write you a check for the full value of the car so it ends up costing the company more money than if they paid you for the exact same damage on a new car.

When we moved to Florida last spring, we are now paying for one Highlander what we used to pay for the Highlander, Camry and Corolla in NJ.
Don't know why. Same insurance company. We will be looking around to check rates.

It probably has to do with the demographics of the area. Maybe there is a history of more accidents or more senior drivers in that area that are more accident prone. Maybe more cars are damaged due to tropical storms than snow storms? Who knows what mystery formula insurance companies used to determine rates.

One thing I leaned the hard way is to shop around for insurance every couple of years. I stayed with one company for over 20 years & after a few people were shocked at how much  I was paying, I looked around and EVERY other company was significantly less. Right now, I'm paying about 1/3rd of what I was paying 4 years ago when I switched & I might start looking around again soon.

The one downside is I bundle auto & homeowners together to save money so if I switch one, I probably should switch the other.

Lisa and Owen both have huge screens. The Storm trooper is lacking, theirs is double the size. Think iPhone to iPad difference.

A friend of mine has a 2024 Mustang. It has 2 huge iPads for a dashboard.

Getting ready to leave for my hernia surgery.

Thank you all for your good luck wishes.  Although I didn't post a thank you individually, please know each of your posts were read with deep appreciation.

@firefly333 Jane, so glad your cateract surgery went well.  Oh those drops were a challenge even with Jack helping. Good luck on your move.

@Ozark_Kid Kenzie's Happy Birthday Dani video warmed my heart.  Such a sweetie.

@dani negreanu Dani, shuwarma is my all time favorite food to eat in Israel.  Yours looked exceptionally tasty.  So glad to see you enjoying a bit of normalcy.

@Sea Dog Greg, how are you feeling post op? How is the  knee doing?  You have wonderful cruises to look forward to.

@TravelGirlinDallas Bethany, your DC pictures are delightful.  Andrew is growing up so handsome.

I haven't seen  @brillohead Debbi post in quite some time.  Hope all is well.

Good luck with your surgery,Bonnie.

Our granddaughter won Artist of the Month award for this.

I think she did pretty good for a third grader.  Now I have to have her make a new one for me.

She was doing some amusing interpretations of famous paintings in her sketchbook, when we had her out to dinner.

Having snails appear as the Mona Lisa, the Scream, The last supper, American Gothic, and, of course, Dogs playing poker.

Your granddaughter is very talented. I wouldn't mind seeing her drawing of dogs playing poker.  I just happen to have that picture

The one in my son’s Tesla X is huge.  Think of a computer monitor in a vertical orientation.

I like how his can have rear traffic view in one section, plus navigation and other functions in split screens below.

If you haven't seen it already there is a great documentary on the Cowsills over at Amazon Prime.

It's really good.

Prayers 🙏 for Catherine

Princess of Wales as she undergoes Cancer treatment.

I just saw the special report. That’s so sad but I’m glad she announced it and maybe people will respect her privacy and quit all the speculation. I wish her well. Good news is it sounds like they detected it early.

I just saw that news awhile back.  So sad.  Poor William.  His dad and wife have cancer…he has three young children…and certainly can’t count on Harry for support.  I hope William and Catherine both have very good close friends and family.  Prayers for them all.

Good evening.

It has been a mild 54°F on the North East coast of England today.

We got a Starbucks take away and sat overlooking the North sea eating our Banana loaf and drinking coffee.

It is like sitting on our ships aft balcony and so relaxing.

I hope everyone is well and looking forward to the weekend.

Good afternoon, I know this a Royal Caribbean thread, but I ask for prayers and support to the passengers, crew and officers of Holland America Nieuw Amsterdam.

Ar approximately 9 am this morning, the fire alarm was sounded and the master of the vessel announced that there was a steam leak and crew quarters were being evacuated.
Tragically, a steam line exploded and 2 crew members were killed.💔

The ship is currently at Half Moon Cay and is awaiting permission to leave.

I'm back.  I've been forewarned. No major pain yet but that will come later today, tomorrow.  I'm ready for it!  Remember, I had open surgery, not laparoscopic.  I forgot to ask the surgeon why he chose that route.

Most pain is a sore throat from the tube stuck down my throat during surgery.

I'm armed with hydrocodone and motrin to hopefully zap any pain that pops up.

Again, thank you all for your good wishes.  Dani created a wonderful community of caring friends.  It's comforting to know we're here for each other to share our lives, good or bad.
