Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

By then you should know how much you have spent and how much OBC will be left

Think I rather get it over with and make sure I'm able to cash it out as early as possible in the cruise, because if some reason they catch you or somehow don't allow it, it sure will bring on a spending frenzy the last few hours of the cruise. Not sure where you could spend that much money quickly except a trip to the very over priced jewelry store onboard and that would be bad.

I would just take the money home with me and pay my onboard expenses with my credit card when I get home using the money I'm bringing home with me.

It doesn't matter how much you think you'll spend, take it all out the first day. Everything spent goes on a cash back credit card - you'll likely spend less AND get a discount.

I use my RCI visa card, more OBC  later.

I just got my Oct 9 cruise on Odyssey repriced.  Now we have over $1400  of onboard credit to spend.  We have never spent that much in 8 days, at least that I can remember.

What I don't remember, is that refundable at the end of the cruise.

We are on the Edge Oct 9. Is the Odyssey going out of FLL too?

$1,400 is crazy.  I am curious how much more before you set a record. I thought our OBC was high but now it’s looking like chump change.

I'd be standing by a machine just waiting for the casino to open.

I should have  had them check price before I made final payment. So, here we are. Before, when I looked, the new price was more.

Have any of you who have visited Australia or have family/friends return home from Australia, tried vegemite?  Here is a recipe from the magazine for Spaghetti Bolognaise with the bonus ingredient of vegemite….

Have a friend who lives in Sydney, she brought some home with her one time.  No thank you, you guys can keep it.  She said she's growing used to it, but not quite at the like it stage yet.

Well, that may be the medical definition…my grandmother said it was where I’d been kissed by angels.  I’ll go with that. 😊

My son in law has dimples, kept looking for them on my grandkids, looks like they didn't get those angel kisses, just means I will have to give them more myself 😘

Unless there's a problem with my browser, that link goes to a "dead" web page...one that now has links to a bunch of unrelated stuff.  Do you still see their upcoming events when clicking on that link?

Very odd as Yes, I do see upcoming events.     Next event is a wedding on 9.11

Can you view their fB page https://www.facebook.com/Chatterband

As we are in lockdown still and for a while yet and cannot go beyond 5km of our residence, our only outings are the local park & the supermarket.  Our major supermarkets here release a free magazine each month which I picked up today.  As we are at the beginning of Spring, strawberries are very cheap right now at $1-$2 a punnet and avocados are also very cheap at $1 each.  We go through a lot of both of these in our house so enjoying the reduced prices. They are  also a prominent ingredient in this month’s recipes.

Darn, I want to turn the page and find the recipe. The crust looks like it was made in a tart pan???

Although summer may be unofficially over, it's still hot here.  Good beach day yesterday.  Beaches in front of condos and resorts were mostly empty as many tourists are gone with kids back in school, but local beaches were still a bit crowded.  It's was a warm 90F but humidity was only around 50%.  Nothing that a dip in the (warm) ocean or a frozen cocktail couldn't fix.

The receding waves made interesting grooves in the sand.  Looked like some sort of flower.

This looks like fun.  I need to see if this is something that anyone can rent/do, or if it's privately owned.  At one point, there were two of them at the same time.

Jax Beach has a concession, I think.
Just a nice ride on the ferry for you!

Don’t do what the poor men in South Florida did, slam into a condo balcony!

Seeing everything drop I have been checking our April cruise.  As of yesterday it was close to 65% more.  It may drop later but I would be surprised if it drops below what we got it at.

I know I have mentioned this before and they have played virtual concerts on board but if you haven't heard them check out Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns on Youtube. Their Leader Jerry Lopez is a friend of mine. Great guy and the whole band is incredible. Be sure to look them up if you are in Vegas at the Copa Room on Monday nights.

Last year Royal put on a live virtual concert with Santa Fe and The Fat City Horns on FB during the lockdown.  It was awesome awesome concert.  What a treat that was for those of us sitting at home with the lockdown and missed cruising.  I think Royal then did a couple more live concerts with the Royal band because these live virtual concerts were so good and well done.  The Royal horn section is so outstandingly fantastic, too.

I'm attaching the video from F B.  Not sure if it's allowed.  But I'll try...
