I didn’t get a confirmation email either but mine is showing under “booking & order details.”

Nothing there for me.  Do you know how long it took to show up there?  It's only been a few hours for me but the discount ends tomorrow and I want to make sure I get it but I have no proof I bought it.

I just looked. I don’t know how long it’s been there. Are you logged in?

I just entered my second order for today and, after reading your question, decided to time it for an answer.

Mine showed up immediately.  I hope yours has populated on your Cruise Manager as well.

Newbie question.  From what i have read here before, cheers usually doesnt get discounted.  Is 20% off cheers fairly unusual to see?

My 1st cruise is booked in nov 2021 on the mardi gras.

First time I've seen it discounted. I think they're only doing it now to get some cash flowing since they aren't cruising now.

Any other time, you can get it for 10% cheaper as long as you buy it prior to your cruise, but this 20% off is definitely a unique offer. Like Saint Greg said, it's because of everything that's going on.

I have a booking for next April  a cancelled cruise this April and we were looking at using the $600 OBC they were giving us to help us buy the Cheers package for our cruise in April 2021.  But I go to my cruise manager and add cheers to my cart and it still shows original price of $51.xx a day.  I didn’t get the email either and looked through my junk mail and didn’t see it.  Wish I would’ve gotten it cause I would have definitely purchased it now.  Is there a promo code? Or just a add discount to cart by clicking here thing?

those that got the email have you purchased cheers before on previous cruises?

Is it normal to get no confirmation of Cheers purchase? I can't see anything on my booking either and it lets me add cheers to my cart and purchase again if I wanted.

I had this problem leading up to the cruise we took last month. After purchasing an excursion for two bookings, internet plans for four people, Cruise Cash for three of us, and a case of water, I never got a single confirmation email for any of it. Even though, when I made each purchase, it'd say that a confirmation email was sent to...and it showed my email address. Prior to that cruise, I always got confirmation emails for all of our purchases. I talked to our PVP, someone in the Fun Shops dept., and someone in the excursions dept. and no one could explain why I wasn't getting confirmations. I was able to see all of the purchases in my Cruise Manager, but I still like to get the emails.

Go back a page in this thread, Saint Greg explains how to do it. I tried to add his quote but couldn’t.

I got it.  Ya I found his post on going through already booked then organizer access and so on.  We got it for $784.66 total with gratuities for a 8 day cruise we’re as before it was $980 total.  Also we used Carnival gift cards that we got at 10% off to purchase it for even more savings.  The $600 OBC we get for rebooking from our cancelled cruise we are basically only paying $180something out of pocket for Cheers.

I don’t count the normal 10% cheaper as a sale because they didn’t lower the pre-cruise cost. They raised the price on the ship.

Added it the way saint greg said , worked perfect. My 2500.00 in gift cards showed up today so I used those to pay for it, so saved an extra 12 percent (up from 10 to 12 on Allstate) so that saved quite a bit Extra so with gratuities for two people on a six day cruise out of pocket is 512.00 , not too bad !!! Thanks for the heads up !!!

Since they said they're new and asked about Cheers discounts, I just wanted to make sure they knew that it's discounted 10% when bought before the cruise. In case they missed this sale, they could still save a little money.

Thank God I perused the Carnival boards because if it weren't for CC I would not have saved a bunch of money on our 2021 Mardi Gras cruise.  Even though I am platinum and have purchased Cheers on 4 cruises since Jan of 2013 on the Breeze, I never get any promotional emails except 1 recurring one about the Carnival app that I get multiple times a month.

Snagged Cheers with the 20% and additional 10% Allstate card savings that brought it down to 309 pp all in for our 7 night cruise.

To summarize, this is a “thank you” that goes across a couple of different thread topics

(X% off Cheers, AARP gift cards, Allstate gift cards, X% off Cruise Cash, + others) but I think this is the best home for it, because I was most excited by the Cheers discount!

Especially thank you for the “Saint Greg” method to book BOTH 20% discount Cheers and 20% discount Cruise Cash against my 11/7&11/12 B2B cruises on the Ecstasy.

Thank you to my CC friends for educating me on AARP and Allstate gift card discounts.

Thank you to my CC friends for leading me to pursue “casino rates” and “VIFP offers” that led to my booking both of my B2B cruises under the $500 OBC offer.

I leveraged previously acquired 10% Allstate gift cards for the Cheers, and the newly acquired 12% Allstate gift cards for the cruise cash. I only booked enough Cruise Cash to cover tips and a small excursion to make sure I wasn’t underwater since I’ve got the $500 OBC on both legs of my B2B (I am a gambler/craps player, so not much chance of being under water - another thank you for educating me on the “casino trick”). My realized costs on both cruises with drink packages and $500 OBC is only $200 more than I budgeted for the first cruise WITHOUT OBC (except a small $50 one) and WITHOUT a drink package.

Thank you CC community!

Hopeful, but understanding if not, that by November cruising will be a safe option.

can cruise cash be used to pay gratuities?

Technically yes, if it's still available on your S&S account. The thing is, when you spend on board the ship, the Cruise Cash will be deducted from your S&S account first...before gift cards, cash, & credit card. That's just how their system works, it can't be held separately. Your gratuities won't be charged until the last night.

also, if I recall they auto add tips for drink packages. Is that an additional charge on top of whatever the final price is in that cart or is that included in that price?

The final price in your cart includes the automatic gratuities. It breaks it down when you checkout (sub-total, gratuities, total).

Thats fine, I just wanted to see if I'd save money by waiting to pay grats and putting more money into cruise cash to get that extra percentage off.

That would also cover purchases like special dinings? Drink courses?

And one last thing, if we purchase drink package or cruise cash deal today. Does that get charged right away or added to the bill to be paid off before cruise starts or ends?

Sorry one last one, if it doesn't get spent on this cruise would those cruise cash flow over to a booking thats done the following year?

Question for anyone who DIDN'T get the email. Have you been able to successfully get the discount on your booking? It's hard to determine if this is truly limited to certain bookings or not. I got the email for our January booking and can get the discount there, but we're looking at one of the 2022 Sailabration cruises. We'd rush to book that one today (since this sale ends tonight) if I knew we could get the discount for that one too.

I am booked on a Sailabration cruise out of Galveston, and didn't get the e-mail.  When I get in Cruise Manager using St Greg's magic key Cheers is showing the 20% discount.   When I get in the normal way, the discount is only the normal 10%.

You have to pay for it when you order it.

No.  Use it or lose it.

I only got the email for one cruise. I added cheers and cruise cash for three cruises including my 2022 sailabration cruise.

For anyone still having problems with it I called and got it figured out. If you have multiple bookings on your account it's having problems and you have to do it without being logged in. You need to log out of carnival. Scroll down to the very bottom and under "Already Booked" click "Organizer Access." Put in your booking number, last name, OK. That will take you into your booking and you'll have the discount when you add cheers to your cart.

Saint Greg, thank you so much!  I had been trying to get the 20% discount for two days without luck.  The email I received was specific to only one of my bookings.  Using your method, I was able to get the 20% off Cheers for three different bookings.  You rock!
