Tomorrow April 18th is the 147th birthday  of a very special line.

May we all meet onboard in the not to distant future and raise a toast 🍾 to  surviving this most difficult time in recent history.

HAL could have become a part of maritime history before Mr. Arison made the wise choice to replace his projected "Tiffany Project" by acquiring Holland America Line.  

 

As Gloria Gaynor sang during the disco era  I Will Survive, Holland America Line will find a way to survive as well.

usually they have a King's (Queen's) Day sale.  Maybe they will amalgamate the two and we get extra discount!!!

Congratulations HAL on being in the business for 147 years.  I was on the Westerdam II when HAL celebrated 125 years.  The Captain said HAL would build smaller and smaller in the future. That didn't happen!.

Hey we call our appetizers aka poopoos !

I will put together some smoked 🦪 oysters, roasted artichokes, goat cheese and crackers!!! Just checking quickly what I have! Got some cold Prosecco too! Hubby says gin and tonic!

Got my medallions polished up too!  DH dug out some HAL cocktail napkins we brought home once.  I'm having white zinfandel (rose') wine.  He usually gets out some sea salt and pepper rice crackers, some Keebler Town House Focaccia Cheese crackers, and whatever cheese we have.  Today looks like it will be colby/Monterey jack cheese slices on the crackers.  Fast and simple.  How about you?
