Just check AIS and it is showing Carnival Fantasy is now underway at 14 Knots. Destination is showing Izmir Turkey.

They were committed to August 1 for months. They change plans as conditions indicate. This is a fluid situation. Florida is a virus hotspot again.
 
I’ll be surprised if any of the big boys sail before January 1.

The Pride and the Glory are waiting their turns to go into the Curacao port.  I am hoping they are there to pick up what was removed for Fantasy and Inspiration.  If you look around on tracking sites, the Caribbean Princess and Coral Princess have been steaming around the ABC islands for a little while now, too.  Probably waiting their turns.

Their turn to offload equipment? No. They've been there for weeks.

Sad to hear the Fantasy being decommissioned. We cruised on her out of Charleston and had a great time. Despite it being spring break, most of the college kids were respectful. I remember being that young and dumb so we took it with a grain of salt.

 

Some fun memories for sure on that ship.

Booked Fantasy for August 2012. Only ship sailing out of Mobile port. Always full. Any idea of replacement if sold?

It makes me sad since I sailed on the Fantasy in 1990 when she was brand new. We have had many great cruises on Fantasy  Class ships and still enjoyed sailing on them from time to time on the short runs. The only Fantasy Class ship we haven't been on is the Imagination,  though we have her booked in October 2021. Hope it happens. 😎

I knew that the Pride was headed to Curacao and when I heard about the Fantasy happenings in Curacao, my first thoughts were "Please don't let the Pride be getting the Fantasy treatment!"

I live in Curaçao, and I can confirm that Fantasy left last night on her last journey to Izmir, Turkey. Inspiration will leave this coming Friday. Pride arrived this morning here in Curaçao. Lots of stuff like Casino machines, store inventory etc from both ships have been put in containers to be send to Miami.

When you say both ships, do you mean Fantasy and Inspiration, or Fantasy and Pride?

From the looks of the AIS the Pride and Glory were not docked at the same container terminal that the Inspiration and Fantasy were/are docked at. I could be wrong though.

It seems the rumors are true. Rhia article talks about the Fantasy leaving Curacao and heading for Turkey.

.. It's very sad.. They didn't have a proper send-off goodbyes for cruisers/ crew. Imagine the last cruise was their LAST CRUISE without knowing it..🙁

Our first and third cruises were on the Fantasy, out of Charleston and Mobile, such a good ship.  If the cruise lines have any takeaways from COVID it should be smaller ships not larger .
